I watched your whole video while drinking 2 beers. I was mezmorized. There is a market for these because Petsmart or other stores dont sell tank stand above 75 gallons. Im getting a 90 gallon tank and after I add all the stuff in it will weight 1150 lbs. How much do you think this stand you made can hold safely. I like the video. Thanks for speeding it up and adding sound.

@@Squatching_Fish safety I say 3 to 4000 lbs easily

A 2x4 standing vertically holds 800 pounds. He has 10 2x4s holding the weight. This stand can safely hold 8000 pounds. I imagine your tank is only 4 feet long so you won’t need the center vertical support. Your stand would hold 6400 pounds. That’s not counting all the screws or the horizontal 2x4s. They don’t add much anyways. This is a very basic design that a user by the name of rocket engineer came up with back in the day on reef central. Super sturdy and incredibly easy to build.

@@keithwicks9103 This is the kind of wood nerd stuff I love to here. I still would not let Lizzo sit on it, but I feel safe with this awesome design. Going to go off of this desisgn this weekend with my pops and slap one out like it. Thank you

Great video! Wondering do I need the middle support on the front? I have a 40 gallon sump to go under it so it would help with fitting it in there. Would changing the top of the frame to 2X6 help? (mine is for a 125 gallon - 72" long. Thanks.
@jlistdiy11 ай бұрын
Thank you and not to sure about having no center support although using 2x6 would definitely be alot stronger and less risk of sagging in the center if their was no support maybe double up the 2x6 on front and rear making it a 4x6

Love the video, but every time I watch you push the 2x4s on the table saw by hand I get anxious. I see your smart about thumb placement and we have all done it. Just gives me the 😬 face.
