One of the best parts of Ethiopian food is that everything is real food: no preservatives, additives, dyes, etc.

@Lemlem7682 That is what I was thinking. Lol!
@Lemlem76824 күн бұрын
@OriginalKriolu we eat 😋 very 🔥 🥵 and none Ethiopian 🇪🇹 they complain, it's too hot.So the restaurant had to make it a mild 😀 and must of us Ethiopian 🇪🇹 we make our own food at home so we didn't care. 😉 but if you come to our home and try the food it's very hot.
@OriginalKriolu4 күн бұрын
@Lemlem7682 I have 2 cousins who are half Ethiopian and several friends, so I am aware of the spice levels. That is probably a good idea unless the customer asks for it to be spicy hot.

JL, I love your channel. Especially because you’re never super negative, even when I know the place you’re at and know it’s mediocre. But you were so negative from the jump, even calling out the table rocking. What’s up with that? You’re wrong on this one and it’s not fair to the business. Sorry. Maybe you had something go wrong with service or wait time or weren’t feeling well because you were full. This place is the bomb. The awaze flavor is not “mild” lol. It’s not hot hot spicy but it’s a sweet and spicy flavor and you didn’t mention anything about that. The lemon turmeric is very lemony. The chicken is clearly cooked so well - it fell off the bone. It’s mad crispy - you could hear the crunch. I have lived in west Philly for 20 years now and this is probably the place I’ve been most excited about - it’s the best fried chicken around and not even close.

Is it a new Ethiopian 🇪🇹 restaurant on 47 baltimore Ave? And what is the name of the restaurant ?
@ryanwhyte295 күн бұрын
@ Na been around for over 20 years or so. The name is “Dahlak”. I’ve been going there ever since I was in college, and I graduated in 2021! ☺️
@Lemlem76825 күн бұрын
@ryanwhyte29 Dahlak is not an Ethiopian restaurant, but Eritrean restaurant, but they do use Ethiopian spicy, but they are not Ethiopian. Abisnia restaurant is an Ethiopian restaurant. Meskrem restaurant is an Ethiopian restaurant. I don't know if they are still in business 🤔 🤷
@ryanwhyte295 күн бұрын
@ Yea they cook both cuisines and are African neighbors to each other so I think that’s why they reference both cultures when you go there.
@Lemlem76825 күн бұрын
@ryanwhyte29 You said it is an Ethiopian 🇪🇹 restaurant. Now you're saying we're African, and we are neighbors and the same, but Ethiopian 🇪🇹 food Eritrean food is not the same. Eritrean food is bootleg, and Ethiopian 🇪🇹 food is the original food 😋 I can't stand Eritrean 😫 food as Ethiopian. I wouldn't go to Eritrea restaurant because the food is not the same and a lot of people they go to Eritrean they don't like the food because it's watery but they didn't know that they went to Eritrean restaurant because all Eritrean used Ethiopia name so they can make money. But Ethiopians know which one 😏 is the real restaurant and the fake one 🙄

Ate here a few times, I think what he means by "mild seasoning" is that it's under seasoned. Ethiopian food is really flavorful and this lacks all Ethiopian flavors, or even basic fried chicken flavors. Even their doro wat on the menu isn't all that great. Overall this place is just good for serving fresh food, not necessarily delicious tasting food.
