The problem is Ticketmaster/live nation and their “dynamic pricing” and extra fees they decided to enact. They also have a monopoly on ticket sales with all larger venues. If an artist tries to play non Ticketmaster/live nation contracted venues, they’re likely to be blacklisted. It’s all a price gouging monopoly. There were congressional hearings over it a couple of years ago, but ultimately nothing of substance was done.
