I thought the four-blade racing prop might be a bit aggressive, the three blade gives you the "jump to lightspeed" we all know and love. Awesome project and must be a blast to drive.

Absolutely wonderful. I am very impressed with what you have achieved. The quality and workmanship is by far the best i have scene. Well done. I am a boat dealer in Australia, interestingly i specialize in RIB's, but i would love to pick your brain at some point regarding the lessons you learned to get to this point. I am Building a 22 foot long boat style skiff, this engine is exactly what Ive dreamed about powering it with. Also incorporating a full solar roof to charge and offer some shade from the Aussie heat. I was also thinking about a small honda genset, for the longer weekends away. Great job once again.

Sure, throw a couple solar panels on the bimini to re-charge. Should only take about 3 years to get enough charge to get you around the lake again. This is not a trolling motor using a couple of 20 amp hour wheelchair batts. Seriously. That motor is sucking more juice than your entire block under acceleration and fast cruise.

Without the Dilithium Crystals you're toast anyway. You have the magnafluxer of course? What I love about this guy is that the next step might be an elevator or excavator or whatever, and he just builds that too. But 240v for a sport boat application should be an option, but not the standard. Unless someone want to use their dryer cord to charge their boat..not real practical, unless you can pull into a Tesla station and charge there. But then the Catastrophic converter might blow. She'd just be getting way too too much Captain..

I did an electric outboard, but the gas powered lowered gear is very inefficient, high friction, takes a lot of energy to just spin it, which makes little difference in a wasted energy gas powered boat. A better approach is to put the motor in the water for cooling and direct drive the prop.

I havn't seen much video's regarding the electric type or convertion to electric power vids and I must say this is the best vid I have ever seen and the best thing is I speed. I think by minimising some of the weight on te boat will rocket you speed and bring down your power consumtion and lengthen you time on the water. I think there is a hell of a future for you in this industry and best of luck forward. Maybe I will come apon a product of your design that I will enjoy using.

Well if you want to get technical/literal, are you powered by food, or by fat, or by the chemical process your body uses to get the energy?...you know what they meant... Technically pretty much all our energy comes from the sun. You say it's battery powered, but batteries don't generate power, they store it chemically, so technically you're wrong. It's electrically powered...Lol

I love this idea I'm glad it worked out great but a typical gas and does not idle at 1000 rpms and idles at about 5 to 600 RPMs anything higher than that will cause damage to the forward and reverse selector also you need to switch over to a hydraulic trim this will help you plane easier and then you can change the pitch on the engine itself the cruise better at speed

Amazing congratulations for your very nice Electric boat sir! I have to say try it without the hydrofoil on the engine . Sometimes you can go faster. Some good research saying anything good about that. More effective on big boat to fly at lower rmp.but the result is not so impressive. I remove mind and the rpm Higher faster than with it. And between you and me, you have enough power to fly strait very easily . Thats my opinion. And i speak french so, sorry if you have to work hard to understand trying to do my best without Google 😆😎✌️✌️if i remember i Never see a racing boat with that

interesting project. I really like the idea of a weekender sailboat that I can lose the diesel inboard and replace it with an electric. Is it realistic to put a battery bank in the same space as a fuel tank?
@jltempes
@jltempes 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's roughly the same volume though the batteries will weigh more than an equal volume of fuel. I put 40,000 watt hours of battery in the same area as 21 gal of gas. Also, you can't just refill the batteries as there is no supercharging at the lake (yet) You will need to size your battery pack appropriately. Very easy if you are only looking for 5-10 mph. It gets exponentially harder the faster you go.
