I’m From the UK and new to HO and after seeing these I was gutted to find I was years late to the party on ordering, last month a inquired a Railroad stockest in the uk on the off chance they’ll get some in the future. Today I got a message saying they was here. £205 posted, $257 even at that price and watching your review I’m even more excited for them to arrive. Kind feels like Christmas Day in May 🤣🤣

The water tenders look awesome on video and in person. For those of you who have not been to a Worlds Greatest Hobby train show this year, you could have seen these up close and personal along with the Big Blow Turbines that are shipping soon. I am an N scaler and am looking forward to their first locomotive to be announced this summer. Already saving up for whatever it is and getting it on preorder. Great review James, take a deep breath and relax, your consist is now complete.

ScaleTrains is one of the few companies I trust with nearly each product before seeing it in person. Good quality, high details and price here in Europe is still ok. The import tax is bumping it up….

Boy am I glad I bought a bunch of those Bachmann Spectrum black N&W and undecorated auxiliary water tenders when they were about $10 a piece. The new ones from a couple of sources are $100 a pop and up and don't look a bit better.

It great to see a new company breathe new life into the hobby. The tenders look really good. The price is fair for what you are getting.Scott

I didn't know those were out yet - Cool! Nice review. Yes, the UP Steam guys have needed at least one of these for a long time and now we have the set! I have a set on pre-order in Lincoln and can't wait to see them. Nice job on the sound dubbing for the 844 run buys.

great review James. I've pre-ordered and I wait in anticipation although I have 3 UP water tender sets from various manufacturers. What makes my collection unique is that all 3 sets are of different types. I want the scaletrains version because they are highly detailed.

I got my set of ScaleTrains UP water tenders a couple of days ago. The detail is fantastic. I really like the separate American flag. It really stands out. My only problem is the FEF-3 I've got is the Greyhound #8444. I know the era isn't right,but the water tenders really look good with it.

KATO did a good job making these water tenders in N scale with lots of detail. If you have a chance, review the re released KATO N scale Daylight set with SP 4449. Next to KATO in N scale Scale Trains gets an A+ on details in HO scale.

I realize that this is a very old video, but I just wanted to let people know that scaletrains has 3 of the water tenders on their web site for sale. Unfortunately, the 814 is not there, but the 804 is along with a black one. $75 a pop. ONE QUESTION - With the DCC directional turned on, do these alternate when a directional change is detected on the track or is it completely manual?

James..you did a outstanding job of dubbing the sound! The next great wish is that someone actually captures the sound from the 844 for a sound decoder. What sound decoder do you have in your 844? I need to buy a new one to replace the MCR original.Thanks

Great review, James. Now an important question here: who makes the best boxcar in HO to use as the steam team's tool car? Does the Scaletrains Evans boxcar come close? And does anyone make decals? Thank you!
@jlwii20008 жыл бұрын
Thats very hard to find one in plastic. The closest I could find in plastic was a con cor box car. My suggestion would be to find the brass one by overland models.

James, what model and brand is that tool boxcar behind the last tender?
@ODACerberus7 жыл бұрын
IIRC in another video he said it was an Athearn 60' Gunderson, Which is not accurate to the prototype high speed express boxcar. The closest I've found to former UPP 9336 is a 60' Greenville Auto parts box car from exact rail but it isn't quite right.
