2 GREAT Cornets: Olds Super ('64) & Olds Recording ('56)

i love your videos. i had wanted an Olds Super cornet since 1966. last march i found a near mint 1967 Olds Super for a very low price.i have been playing it in the local community concert band ever since.. my main horn is a Getzen LB Renaissance trumpet... it is the best trumpet i have ever owned and played. the Olds Super cornet is the best cornet i have ever owned or played..

Very cool! Getzen’s Renaissance is a tremendous horn; they should have kept making those. And the Super IS a great cornet. I’d say you’ve got the bases covered with those two. And thanks for the kind words regarding my vids; nice if you to mention it. :) Continued best wishes!

Not yet, but that's a good idea. I know the Recording cornet is one of the heaviest horns I've had in a while, but I haven't weight the Super Cornet. Coming up soon - great idea!

Olds Recording Cornet: 40.4 ounces, 1148 grams. Olds Super Cornet: 40.1 ounce, 1137 grams. Olds Recording Trumpet: 37.2 ounces, 1056 grams. Olds Super Trumpet: 37.1 ounces, 1055 grams

Fascinating! My Olds Ambassador cornet is 39.4 oz and Schilke B1 is 36.5- I was surprised at how much more it is. Wondering if it was normal, thanks!
