Fun watching the journey. I have a sloping street in front of my house, so that helped. I was most excited when I could pump hard enough to go up a moderate hill. I'm trying to learn switch now and it's like starting all over again. You were right about how good it feels to accomplish goals as you learn.

Nice work! I got mine a month and a half ago. Also made a short video from my day 3 (it's under shorts on my channel). I didn't make videos of other days though :) I'm kinda surprised, looking at this and other comments that I was apparently pretty quick?! Because in day 1 I could go a few meters until losing balance after practicing for about an hour. I never spent much time trying to balance standing still, because that seemed to be more difficult than balancing while in motion. Day 2 I was able to go downhill keeping my balance most of the time. On day 3 I started trying to make the motion to gain speed, but still kind of clumsily. Also fell a few times. I still have a lot to improve. There was some time between the days I practiced, maybe that helps with the fatigued muscles... Even now, I still notice that I get much worse at it once my muscles get tired. But riding switch I'm still going nowhere (worse than day 1 in my regular stance 🤣)
@joannaaraiza86852 күн бұрын
Thanks! Before you started did you have any experience in another sport where you built similar muscles? Maybe skateboarding? For me, I felt like I was making a motion that I had never done. I couldn’t believe how sore it made me.

I really appreciate these learing videos. They show that it doesn't happen quickly. Some of the tutorials I've watched make it seem like you learn in like 20 minutes which is really unrealistic. Have you progressed to any tricks yet or are you focussed on using them for transportation?
@joannaaraiza8685 Жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! I felt the same when I watched a bunch of videos before buying them. I haven’t progressed to do any tricks. I’ve just been able to go longer distances. I’m super impressed with the people that can do the tricks!!

Thanks for sharing! I've been riding mine for about a month at this point and feel like, while I have pumping down pretty well, there's a lot to improve at and learn still. That first week definitely got pretty frustrating at times. Some multi-day breaks helped me come back to it with a refreshed perspective and rejuvenated muscles.
@ReavoEnd3 ай бұрын
Update: Been freeskating ever since, and I've never regretted it. They're so fun! Pumping regular is straightforward and easy now, and pumping switch is more challenging but still very doable. There's lots of tricks and techniques I still haven't been able to learn, but just the act of skating and pumping often is fun.

Damn, it took me almost 3 months before I finally execute the pumping properly. I learned pumping without using a slope and it was so difficult. I was practicing on a textured tile floor hall. I am to afraid to practice outside because the road was too steep; I might get injured. My town doesnt have a proper sidewalk too.
@joannaaraiza86852 жыл бұрын
Hi there! What about local parks that have a smooth walkway? That’s pretty much what I’ve done. Also, sometimes you can find nice sidewalks downtown.

Cool video! I got my freeskates 1 month ago but since it's winter and it's raining a lot I was only able to do 6 half hour long sessions up until now. My process was faster, I would say I looked like your day 10 by session number 5. I think I found better tutorials since 2 year have passed, and also I immediately practiced on a long slope. Can't wait to get back on them and see what my day 10 looks like!

@@joannaaraiza8685 I did skateboard for a little while but it was 20 years ago XD. I've been inline skating on and off for the last couple of years. I also used to practice capoeira and breakdance when I was younger, that probably helped me with balance.

People from 90s just laughing watching this video,because we had snakeboard,which is very similar and we didn't cry so much as you...😂😂😂
@noam7825Ай бұрын
The thing is that snakeboarding doesn't use the muscles in the same way. In freeskates you have to pump without your legs moving too far apart which requires the rider to hold his legs near to each other because if you don't it will exhaust you more. Moreover the snakeboard doesn't require you to use your front foot as a "motor", you mainly use your back foot
