It really boost confidence seeing people you look up to for something they do that’s challenging, that your trying to master. And yet they are struggling to learn something else, to show that everyone has to start somewhere.

@SUPRAThe beginning is quite difficult and you need patience to learn riding them. It took me three days to ride on them. But in the beginning riding uphill is nearly impossible. So I recommend you to ride downhill in the beginning. Also riding with the skates for a long time without stepping of them is a big challenge in the beginning. If you train a lot you'll get the hang of it and you'll be able to ride a long distance without stepping down.

I like the form that Freeskating entails, and what you have to do to gain speed, but I don’t think it’s worth the investment. A pro pair costs between $120-$130, and considering the amount of simplicity they have, I have a feeling that they’re an interesting gimmick that won’t have much hangtime unless they feature in some big competitions
@verdiernoyama96812 жыл бұрын
I just bought some and watching this video I realize how hard what they do is. I bought free skates almost 2 months ago and it was very hard to ride them, it took me about 3 days to learn how to ride. At first it hurt my legs and hips but after about twenty days of training it's easier, more stamina, I no longer have pain and I can move around with more freedom in my movements and more "style". My brother took a break because he had some exams and now I can clearly see the difference between him and me lol. Today ( 06/16/2022 ) I can ride switch and even make 180 in a normal way and in switch despite the fact that it is still a little hard 😅 I still have so much to learn if I wanna ride like them one day
@arthurhodge64946 жыл бұрын
Whoa lots of skate chauvinists commenting. I only know I've had tons of fun on the Freeline branded skates I got a few years ago. Know what, just riding these with control IS a trick! Once you got that it's a blast to cruise on these, no pushing required, super tight turning, slaloming around people on crowded sidewalks. Regular skateboarding is a blast, this is just different. Tricks and one-footing on free skates is hellishly hard, but as a method of transit it beats skateboards-- compact form factor (fits in any backpack) great for low speed riding (tiny turning radius), also great for high speeds if you dare (no bushings=no speed wobs). Great leg workout but way more fun than running. Not as fast as an electric skateboard on flat ground, but no stinkin' batteries or charging required! Props to Braille for open-mindedness. Regular skateboarding rocks, but I dig riding these. No tricks necessary-just rolling on them in control gives me another way to get my surf-sport fix. Open ya damn mind!
@maxritter87586 жыл бұрын
Arthur Hodge I just got a pair from a different brand. The wheels are fixed to the foot pad. Is it supposed to be this way? Or did I buy a cheap knock off?
@arthurhodge64946 жыл бұрын
What's the brand? If you are speaking of the design where the trucks are not bolted to the footpads but molded in one piece with the pads, there are several Chinese ones that are constructed similarly to the old Freeline (American-made) OG's, but some are made of crappy steel which will bend and ruin them. John Hill made a video of mounting cheap free skates to a skate deck, and they bent so much during the filming the wheels touched the footpads, rendering them useless. But give them a try, I assume some knock-offs are made of decent steel.

go to a basketball or tennis court, hold on to the surrounding fence or wall and roll around in your most comfortable direction until you get comfortable with rolling on the skates. As you get more confident see how long you can go without touching the fence.

They are not supposed to stick, you can´t do cool tricks and flips if they stick (like it happens with rollers or snowboarding)
@rm93086 жыл бұрын
Might be good. The one weakness is that they don't allow for jumps without holding them. Dude's been riding for 12 years and still can't do stairs without a grab, so it's probably impossible and it's a major limitation.
@notbemon6 жыл бұрын
That’d be simply a pair of roller blades then, the thing about this is that you can do tricks these tricks

Wow. Thank's a lot. Haven't done any skating to speak of in about 20 years. Pushing 40 now, and getting back into it, I think. Ordered a board, found you guys, and now I've ordered THESE death traps! 😂😂😂 Looks like A LOT of fun though! 🤘😝

I can feel the pain when they smiled, seeing their creation being slammed and threw to the ground. It's not fine at all, I mean, if you think about it, imagine you just drew a piece of art which you spent hours and hours of hard work creating it and someone just scrunched it up and slammed it on the ground like its nothing, it isn't fine. MAGNETS. To help stabilize the “friction”. You could attach and hold to the board better but still release with a strong enough pull.
