High price, failed historical research, poor composition, and the trouble of having to take off the entire costume to replace the head sculpture. And The Dark Knight's Joker didn't look like this.

Recalling the figures is not the solution here, I can’t imagine they can do anything to this figure that will make it worth that ridiculous price

The face and paint look really good to me. Neck is revolutionary.
@optical207 күн бұрын
its really good, I dont think its bad, the neck and glass eyes with magnets could be a game changer in the future.

They should revise the price too.
@optical207 күн бұрын
I agree, I believe that is the biggest issue.

I kept my order and will wait for final product hopefully it improves a lot more.
@optical206 күн бұрын
i believe so, did you get the two figures?
@mozzile83686 күн бұрын
@ I got the type A. I feel personally the value is not there for type C since I don’t like the other smiling sculpt.

With InArt and hot toys doing Joker, updated Jokers on top of that I don't know why anybody felt the need to buy this thing especially at the outrageous price.
@plok-ul9ig7 күн бұрын
You know why? coz some cant resist the pull of FOMO when it comes to new releases thats why their only option left is to complain... coz theyll but it anyway

I am guessing curiosity, JND is known for their hyper realistic statues so maybe hoping it will translate to 1/6
@dangiambrone73507 күн бұрын
It's not just the price, it's JND's arrogance. They were extremely boastful, while also knocking the competition, ironically using "gimmicks" as a critique when they themselves are producing gimmicks on steroids. Also, the majority of collectors find the finished product underwhelming; it's likeness, hair, tailoring are not the quantum leap JND is making it out to be, and imo, and many others, this figure isnt as good as Inart's and Hot Toys. My criticisms would still apply if the figure was £250.

I agree, they are known to be arrogant even in the statue world.

There’s no way that looks better than Hot Toys, and I don’t even have the Hot Toys. It’s looks like a really good Joker cosplayer than Heath Ledger as Joker.
@optical207 күн бұрын
yeah, that's a maybe. Forget the smiling sculpt, the neutral is not bad, MAYBE... Maybe better than hot toys, I can't definitively say that.

I feel this whole situation is a company gode at one thing, trying to move into another space and is just not prepared for it. There Joker to me just does not measure up even if it does get improved where its worth the full price JND wants. I own some JND statues, love them and think they are usually worth their pricing. Now its possible the Batman and Selina Kyle improve a lot, but even then there will be cheaper options for 1/6 scale collector's to get.
@optical206 күн бұрын
I agree on all of this, unlike in statue, they pretty much own the realistic department (queen is right there) but maybe not in 1/6 , especially since there are not just better options but also cheaper options.

We just need one more good run at it from in art and it’s over considering it was their first figure and they’ve gotten so much better even with the routing. I think they should allow themselves to do a 2.0 and some people may not like it or tired of it but facts are this character is the king of villains rest in peace, Heath ledgerthis figure will forever live on purple coat, joker
@thenewapelles64487 күн бұрын
If this was $500-$600, it would be the best 1/6th Heath Joker. But it's not worth over $1k. JND is charging WAY too much.
@optical207 күн бұрын
I agree, they overshoot their price on this one. Even at the same price I am not sure if they have the best "likeness". They have the best gimmicks that I agree.

It's The Killing Joke....................for real! I have the sculpted InArt which is rad the 1/4 Hot Toys and have sculpted Hot Toys 2.0 on PO> I am good. JND chose poorly with first release zero innovation. Their Marketing team should be fired along with whoever green lit the project. Do your homework homies!

They overrate their ability to make this figure, I am guessing hey thought they will be head and shoulders above Hot toys and Inart.

JND's pieces are highly impressive! They do have to be appreciated in hand, tho. I dont own any yet as I'm strictly 1/6, but I have seen friends pieces. Mind blowing! And most critics are being overly expressive on negatives and they always incorporate the pricepoint in there view. Fair. But I think they're are alot of people ragging on it because they can't or simply won't decide to priorize spending that much for one figure. That's their decision but I sense that many of them are trying to take lesser version of the character and give it more praise than it deserves because it happens to be more price friendly. It's like they are trying to convince themselves what they bought is good enough and it's gonna be "The best because there's no way I'm spending that much on Kojun's piece" I find that laughable. I ordered this based on the initial prototype pics and paid in full for it. I'm pleased with their efforts and think the key features they've implemented are great... so long as they work. I think the likeness and paint apps are great as well. Other versions look like Heath Ledger maybe in-between takes on set in full make up. I look at this and I see moody dark film quality images. Like Heath Ledger after Chris Nolan said "action!" The only thing I would complain about other than paying a premium is the final hair color variation not being there and the lack of suspenders. The smiling sculpt doenst quite hit the same as the proto but maybe those are just lighting and eye positions. Idk. Sounds like they will address those things and I'm happy to see them go to these lengths. They are just getting started working at this scale and other companies weren't flawless in their beginnings either. Including HT.

I agree, I think the figure is incredible. I would never knock it just because I can't afford it. If I held this piece in hand I bet I would loose my mind over the quality
