As a lifelong hippie, the information I was always getting was about how Israel was treating the Palestinians unfair. Gaza was the test case for the claim that Palestinian extremism is just an expression of their yearning for self-determination in the form of a state. They got their state and they immediately started using it to attack the rest of Israel. So yeah, Israel is not going to endanger its citizens by giving sovereignty to the corrupt and terry-supporting PA in the West Bank.

Israel's strategy should assume a Harris presidency. They have two months to defeat Hamas. Get on with it with total focus. The country needs to prepare for a Harris administration. Gaza might look devastated now, but imagine what Lebanon will look like. Imagine how much damage will need to be done in Iran to destroy their economy and military. That's the inevitable result of a Harris presidency. The cries of pariah state will be real then, but the alternative will be to cease to exist. However much some of us hate Netanyahu, the alternatives are either ineffectual or will take Israel to nuclear war earlier.
