I started in TKD as a kid and it's served me well all my life, I've trained in many styles and did MMA for 2 years, there's things I learned in TKD as an 8 year old that served me well up to this very day. But be careful, because sport TKD creates bad habits like low guard (if any guard at all) because you only kick the range is different than when you're getting punched in the head like in KB. I'd say learn ALL YOU CAN from everything. I had to unlearn TONS of bad habits, but now I'm better off

Yes, of course... It's a martial art and in the competition we also use punches... but kicks are more use. It's the particularity of Taekwondo.

Very interesting video, just one question, being curious: Why are the techniques named in English and their original naming isn't used instead?
@nguyenhai7159 Жыл бұрын
May I ask for the name of the music you used during the tutorials for the basic kicks? And also is there any tips for faster running kick (attack) 2:02 ? I'm a bit slow when it comes to that technique and it's even slower when I have to do the double. Thank you!

In the moment this video was made taekwondo was good, but now the rules have changed and tkd is now boring, the new rules make the practitioners stand one in front of the another side guard and rising the leg all the time, no combos, no counter attacks, no nothing is a shame.

+Flovust Definitely the sensor thingy...because its super sensitive. Compared to the old school taekwondo sparring which require strong attack.

Your video style is very sleek! I like the IMPACT font on the Taekwondo Basics. The website background is sooooo sleek! Gradient feather on text bar is nice! PLEEEASE tell me where I can get that background (tiny holes) for my website! Your definitely come from korean university team..YongIn? Donga? Bantam/feather? So much good hogu drills my man. Where is your dojang location?

A round house and round kick are the same thing. Some arts call them different. Some schools of TKD do not even use the names "inside" or "outside" crescent kick. The same as an axe kick.

A second thought here: I would love to see how all these kicks with the hands all over would fare against a karateka who could kick very well and use their hands. All is well and good when sparring is done where hands are rarely used (as most TKD practitioners say is the biggest limitation).

@gilababibaba11 жыл бұрын
You can choose to lift both hands or leave one hand at your chest level while the other blocks hits to the body. You need to be relatively fast at avoiding hits if you want to use the latter stance and in this case, this dude's fast~ :) Bro fist?

6:55 why isn't he wearing head gear?
@dannycheek81188 жыл бұрын
As a tae kwon do practitioner the headgear is only providing padding for added safety. A good kick can knock you out anyway. What's the point of riding a motorcycle with a helmet when you can still get killed.
@dannycheek81187 жыл бұрын
Common sense should dictate this is a demo not a battle to the death. Duh.
@dannycheek81187 жыл бұрын
It's obvious you don't take martial arts. A well trained artist can control his strikes and also tar kwon do headgear doesn't provide the protection a bike helmet does. Why don't you go give him his neck brace and his pads as well. Maybe even level 3 body armor.
@dannycheek81187 жыл бұрын
Andy a British group online posted statistics of a tar kwon helmet to a crash dummy and concluded that there was posterior linear head acceleration. The back needs to be improved but your not fighting with your back are you. You're not all safe key word "martial". Football players wear helmets too but they still get concussions. In tae your helmet decreases the chance of serious injury but doesn't completely stop it.
@dannycheek81187 жыл бұрын
Like you've taken any martial arts yourself. You can't even talk without putting others down. The idea is that the guy in the vid can control his kicks at the level he is. They SHOULD be wearing headgear but they trust each other at the point they are and are at the skill level to perform the way they do with or without head gear. I don't see what's you hard to understand about that. Maybe you should get out of your moms basement once in a while and learn a few things.
@ShiningMissy11 жыл бұрын
Did you notice how fast they get their legs back after the kick? And beside that they're just fast because they have a lot of experience and trained to be fast.
