I went to work with my mum on this video - she was the animal handler for the wee dog. I’ve had to get the Woolwich ferry to get to the location it was filmed early 1983. The catering was on a double decker bus the band were very nice to work with. I’ve got photos of the go cart somewhere in my loft.

This song holds a special place in the hearts of many in my country and was even used as the theme song for a beloved movie called "Bagets", which centered around the lives of teenagers. It reminds us of the simpler times of the 80s when life was less complicated and free from the chaos and issues of today. Back then, gadgets were not as advanced as they are now, and we spent our time playing outside with friends and neighbors. In the Philippines, electricity was a luxury that only the wealthy could afford, and televisions were not yet as colored as today. We cherish these memories and hold them dear to our hearts.

I'm 70 in late '24. This means, I was out of high school for 10 yrs. already when this hit the airwaves wayyyy down here in Arizona / USA. Being a Boomer......I'm more of a hard-rocker / desert-rock guy but I remember this tune when it was being played all thru the USA 30-40 yrs ago. A cool, steady-driving tune......I STILL dig it just as much now as then. Any of you guys in the band reading this.....weigh in! God Bless us all! PS: don't you younger guys and gals fear "70". Tain't nothin' to be fearful of....just keep fighting for your health and you've got my solemn word......you'll STILL BE ROCKIN' every bit as much as you used to back in the day. That stuff that's in your soul......it doesn't go away, so CRANK IT UP AND DON'T APOLOGIZE FOR IT! joelinarizona

It was never released as a single in the US. HUGE mistake on Polydor's part. MTV was spreading like wildfire and UK acts had over half the Billboard Top 40 by the summer of '83. I believe Americans would've latched on to this song's catchy beat and novel "bitter" message...

Rob Marche is an awesome guitar player. He went on to play as a hired gun for a ton of bands thru the 90's as well. I remember seeing this video on MTV when the color hadn't faded from it yet - we were 16 years old.
