I was born in Leyte but grew up in Manila before I immigrated here in Texas 30 yrs ago.Heard about those towns you have visited so far,but never been there. Theyre beautiful and not touristy. Amazing video of some beautiful spots. You guys travel how you need to. I intend to do the same. When I start spending winters out there I'll still have a small mortgage to pay, a truck payment to make and utilities to cover back at home. While I'm there I will stay a month in 4 separate areas for a total of 4 months, but will take a couple of side trips each month for a few days. All of this is going to require me to watch my pesos, though it's doable, so I spend hours watching those of you who are more focused on gathering experiences than talking about how much you had to spend to get those experiences. Will continue watching and enjoying!

My husband is transferring our list of things we want to see and do in Pinas into a notebook! 😂. Our double sided piece of paper ran out of space! Ah Chris, I've never been to Leyte and with all the things that we want to see and do, we may stay longer than a month! 😂 Sigh - stunning comes to mind when you guys walked on that bridge and you were showing us the view of the lagoon and the sparkling blue waters. It's a shame that I spent so much time running my business in Manila then Batangas but I didn't have time to see the country. I was there for 7 years, flying back and forth. Nice park, beach and seaside town. At long last, PH travel restrictions have finally been lifted. Had this happened a couple of months ago, I would've booked the first ideal flight out with just a toothbrush in my pocket😁 but I am now deep in involvement with my Union's current strike actions against the Hollywood studios and documenting them as much as I can with the X3 (I'm now really appreciating it's utility in doing documentary-type filming). So the trip will have to wait...perhaps in a coupla months when there will be some semblance of the dust settling in Hollywood (hopefully). Besides, after three years of anxiously longing and waiting for the restrictions to be lifted, my enthusiasm in getting there has fizzled out to a certain extent that it's not that important anymore and therefore no longer a priority. I definitely agree on sensible accommodations. I just don't get it why travelers stay at multi-star hotels since the premise of their trip is to explore the outdoors. If they need home-like accommodations and convenience during a trip, then perhaps they should just stay home because it defeats the main reason to travel -- to be away from "home". Like Dorothy said during her adventures away from home a long time ago, "There's no place like home."

Hope things turn out for you there with the unions. The other thing that most people don’t realize with the accommodations sometimes you just don’t have any options. It’s not like you’ve got five star resorts in the middle of these small little towns.
