It's been said many times. The song is derivative of Oliver's Army. However, EC did do a cover of a Jo Jo Zep song ('So Young'), so maybe Jo's reasoning was that he'd return the compliment by making his next hit sound like an Elvis hit. I don't know. Don't quote me on it, but I think the song was written by two Englishmen.

The Elvis that used ''Dancing Queen'' as inspiration for ''Olivia's Army". I'm sure there is a bit of OA in this tune, but there's a bit of Dancing Queen in OA too!
