Only Karate-ka who have actually fought hand to hand in competition understand how quickly victory or defeat can happen. When you are in the zone, you can’t hear any of the thousands of people screaming around you, you are just trading blows with your opponent, fighting through the pain and the exhaustion, relying on the techniques you have trained day after day after day into your body. Much respect to both warriors. It’s easy to judge from behind a keyboard, but would you step onto the mat to back up your smack talk? Osu!

Edward you are correct.. here are two very skilled fighters.. and the fight could go either way and if they had 10 fights the results would show this to be true.. its very easy for one who has never been hit with a full kick or punch , or never battled for over three minutes to blab.. in the ring one minute becomes one year ,, and you wish someone would stop the fight..lol.

Damn, I thought for sure the knockout was going to be for the big guy-he must have had a good 30 or 40 pounds on the smaller fighter and was really physically dominating him.. That knockout kick came so quickly and goes to show what martial arts is all about: smaller opponents overcoming larger ones through skill and technique!

Those who say karate isn't effective should try to take on one them... Everybody has a fight plan, untill the first hard punch or kick they receive... Never understimate any style, respect all as your own...
@ashocck8065
@ashocck8065 2 жыл бұрын
Vs an inferior opponent, sure it's effective. Vs an evenly matched one trained in MMA or BJJ or Boxing for that matter, it's not very effective. Too much emphasis on high kicks. They look great and sometimes can score a beautiful KO in the face, but they are relatively easy to defend and leave you in a vulnerable position more often than not. And as far as punching, you might as well not bother..... again, this is vs an evenly matched opponent.
@hernanedias554
@hernanedias554 2 жыл бұрын
@@ashocck8065 People keep saying that wouldn't do on street fight. It isn't always the style who decides who's got the edge. I know other styles advantages, me I'm a kickboxing practicioner. But understimating a well trained karateka is a dangerous game. That's my point. Thanks for your point of view...

Jo found an opening in the very first second of the fight and went for the head kick, But Andrey is a tough dude,just brushed it off. Despite taking some electrifying shots from Jo, Andrey kept his composure,, maintained his center of gravity at a lower altitude and delivered some good low sweeps to disturb Jo's balance. I was afraid that Jo might get into trouble coz he kept his centre of gravity upwards as he was busy delivering high kicks. But still he managed to win.

Jo miyahara does not do this in karate combat the side to side movement, angles, leg kicks & front kicks w/c i think is the key for him to lure opponents to go in so that he can counter or intercept where as in karate combat he is proding & chasing them & often his shorter attacks are missing i think in karate combat he can use this tactic to attack from the outside & get angles on them while forcing them to retaliate from w/c he can counter with his short range attacks & barrages i hope as a kyokushin guy i want him to be champion in KC

Interesting fight. Kick landed in a more superficial way than what you might see in MMA. There mighta been some 'torque' resulting from the contact that dropped the big Russian dude. Someone told me, a long time ago, chin turns a certain way towards shoulder from contact, you get KO'ed. Looked like a fast, precision 'mosquito' kick. Miyahara did good. Can't be too much kicking of Russian butt, these days. This Russian fighter was bigger and stronger. Didn't work out too good for him, here.
