First of all, you're NEVER too old for cartoon crushes. :B And having a list 90% comprised of talking animals doesn't make you a psycho, Jo, if anything it might just mean you're a furry. :P Lists are so easy to make cheaply and cop out with, but you did no such thing here. The essay portions are well written, there's original animation _and_ it's thought-provoking too! It's a very interesting thing I've noticed, which is that women tend to feel attraction more based on personality, while as a straight guy, the cartoon characters I've liked in the past have been cus they're pretty. I think that's because female characters are made to be appealing in a very specific way to a very specific audience, but male characters are made to be _generally_ appealing/interesting characters. So with no road map so to speak you just kinda forge your own path. That's pretty cool and almost makes me a little jealous, especially as a kid who didn't have many fictional crushes period at the time (I've got more as an adult, honestly). I think that is changing though now, with female characters becoming slowly more interesting and complexly written (and written to be good characters first and foremost). That might also be why I'm more interested in them now.

yuukiGamer I've had too many cartoon crushes I think lol. But I don't think I crushed quite the same way. When I was little I totes dogged the anthro human characters, the animal and fuzzy ones, and wanted to be them, that anthropomorphic way of moving, that hair and fur and how it moved like some matter that didn't exists, almost like liquid air, it captivated me, the emotions and off model extreme reactions. I completely agree A lot of shows nowadays lack personality. When I watch a show I want to feel invested towards the characters and that doesn't happened all too often unfortunately. However recently I got through Gravity Falls and I fell in love with it. The characters were fantastic and the writing was phenomenal. Same with Svtfoe, what the show lacks in animation it it makes up with its characters. Shows like Steven Universe while good is dragging in certain spots for me which I can't put my finger on it. Your short mokey rag was teaming with personality and I look forward for what else you make in the future.

I really appreciate that you did this video with a genuine tone rather than the "oh god I'm SO TRASH for having an emotional connection to cartoon characters when I was a kid" shtick that you see all too often. I think by now it should be obvious that LOTS of us crushed on cartoons as kids. They're designed to be appealing after all.
