Very good. I have a jo staff as walking stick and self defense. I learn from youtube only. You are my guru!

Thanks Matt, another terrific technique video. I use my walking stick as a Bo stick, mostly on walking tropical trails, I'm hoping the self-defense techniques are effective with the Florida wildlife 🐊. Morgan from The Walking Dead was my inspiration for practicing with the Bo.

Laurie R that’s awesome! I haven’t yet tried to defend against a gator or boa, but a long stick has got to be better than nothing!!! Haha what part of Florida? We spend a lot of time in Palm Beach and Martin counties.

That's the neighborhood. Where do you post your FL teaching schedule?

It’s not very consistent yet and I’m still looking for a permanent spot. I’ll be down there in a few weeks visiting again. Jupiter and Tequesta top my list. Where do you like?
@laurier69236 жыл бұрын
Both good choices (and close by). Have a great trip, weather is beautiful and post when you find the right place, thanks 😀

Laurie R thanks. I am looking at a space today near the ocean. I hope to be open this month!

Was wondering which I liked better, chucks or a cane size staff. Guess both have advant's. The chucks can be hidden under shirt but the staff/cane is always ready in plain view. Thanks for the vid, Matt.

albert johnson you are welcome. Carry both of you can!

Very informative video- thanks for posting! What type of staff do you advocate getting to use for training and as a general purpose cane/staff.
@pasquinilli5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! A smaller diameter staff that is solid and a medium weight is best. I haven't used one yet, but I hear really good things about e-bogu here is their link www.e-bogu.com/Martial-Arts-Oak-Jo-s/80.htm

Sir, May I ask what the proper length of the Jo Staff should be? The length of my every day walking stick is in between a Bo and a Jo Staff. 56 inches.THANK YOU for all of your Great Vids. I am learning much.
@pasquinilli3 жыл бұрын
54 inches is a traditional Jo. So you have the perfect length!

really, really... spins, seems to be more info for a cheerleader. I do see teaching balance, but.. all of your videos are the same, teaching a lot of spins with some very basic moves
