CRUISE 5 WITH PHUNGU JOSEPH NKASA 17th OCTOBER 2021

Phungu Joseph Nkasa is possibly one of the most singers and lyricists in Malawi. He shot to fame in the 2003 with his album Tigwirane Manja and after that he went on a roller coaster of fame releasing hit after hit. He surprised many when he did Mose wa Lero, a song openly in praise of former president Bingu wa Mutharika. He went on to sing several songs in praise of politicians, including Professor Arthur Mutharika.
In this interview he says he regrets ever doing that as he never got the benefits he expected to get out of praising politicians. He has no kind words for politicians saying as soon as they get what they want you they dump you and don't even pick your calls.
He says singing praise for politicians ruined his name and his career. But he says he is over it now and will pick up the pieces and move on.
