Everyone talks about Andrea Motis. Understandably, I do that myself. A multi-talent, pure, natural and charming. But let's not forget Joan Chamorro. The 'musical father' of many young, talented musicians. Always modest in the background, but a brilliant musician and teacher.

Andrea -- whose music I love -- might just be lucky she is not famous, particularly at her relatively young age. The companies who promote musicians are not in that game for the welfare of the musicians. If it suits their needs to be friendly to an artist, they might just do so. Otherwise it's all about money. As long a someone like Andrea is not lacking for money to meet her expenses (including travel, instruments and so on), I would guess she is better off working on her own, or with small groups of other artists.
@100nortonfan74 жыл бұрын
@@RalphDratman Though I believe much of what you say is true, Ralph, it is the same dilemma that parents face when seeing their children choose lifetime partners and marry. All they can hope for is that good judgement prevails in choosing and sorting out the complexities of life, and not rush into anything without careful thought. We all wish the best for Andrea and her friends. All of whom are very talented, indeed.
@RalphDratman4 жыл бұрын
@@100nortonfan7 When you write about an analogy with marriage, are you comparing that to signing with a record label? I understand such a relationship in some cases works well and is mutually beneficial for the artist and the label. But why is it even necessary now to sign a record deal? Unless you are fortunate enough to have all successful releases, there will most likely be problems in the long run.
@100nortonfan74 жыл бұрын
@@RalphDratman Yes. My point is that, eventually, decisions to enter into long term contracts of any sort must be well rationalized by the young adult which, in this case, is Andrea. It must be considered as a lifetime career engagement.
