For that time.....Joan cutting a head off with blood coming out was quite ahead of it's time. Even though this movie was a low budget shocker.....Joan never stopped trying to be her best.

Context matters so much when watching old movies. TCM always did a great job of adding context before most movies. And their specials are great. But humans are bad at context. Especially right now. So someone watching this might think it is total camp when it was never meant to be and in the proper context, really isn't. That applies to a good deal of Crawford's career.

Joan looked great with the long hairstyle. She always wore it up or cropped as she got older. I wonder what she would have looked like with today’s more flattering hairstyles for older women. You can see how much Joan LOVES vamping it up for the crew!
