Check out where she is in blue light around :12, the light bleaches out the make up, she is gorgeous. Her face changed, filled out a little I think. Look at the proportions of her face, all her features work perfect together. A little make up enhances beauty, but the beauty has to be there first. She should look older, no younger then when she made I Love Rock n Roll, given that she is with some margin past 30 here. But she used far less makeup early on (or its far better applied here). However, the "thin look" she generally have had is even newer then this, not older as you imply.

There's tonnes of great stuff to discover, plenty of women in rock too although they didn't always get the push from the record companies that they should have. @@miss.g-shun-w There's probably more but these were the first ones that came to mind and some had already been mentioned by Gary Cooper. It took me years to discover alot of these myself. Unfortunately I never saw or heard any of these bands when they were originally out, I discovered most of them on youtube many years later. I too heard alot of Heart music over the years without realising it was by Heart. I hope I have helped you out, and you enjoy some of their music.

Back in the eighties a friend told me he wanted to go somewhere different and he would drive. I didn't know where we were but we pulled into a parking lot and it looked like a bar except when we got to the door I realized everybody had tickets including my friend. When we got inside the only way I can describe it was like maybe a dinner club with a small stage at one end and a bar at the other end. All the tables and chairs were stacked along the back wall. As we got our drinks Joan Jett and the band got up on stage. All I can say is to be able to walk up and be several feet away from her while performing was unforgettable just so much energy.

i'm pushing 50 and i'm a multi-instrumentalist. we both know how difficult it is to truly nail a cover and what it takes to do so. not only do you have to understand the song musically well enough to play it with your own style without diluting either the original or your own style... ... you have to have a love and respect for the original to do it justice. well you could play a competent cover of a song and make it technically all right, you will never nail it without that love and respect of the original. Even non-musicians notice when a cover is technically all right but something is off and that something off is the artist covering it not adoring that song. you can straight up tell that Joan loves this song and loves AC/DC. it's a very clean cover, but that's kind of Joan's sound at this period in her career.

There are some people who everyone mistake for someone much younger. I think it's that way with Joan. Her energy makes you think she's much younger than she is. As singers age they maybe don't get the opportunity to use their singing voice as much and lose their range and power. I learned this the first time I heard Paul McCartney and Wings perform at the Forum in LA and was shocked at how often his voice cracked or was otherwise much weaker than what I'd heard on all those great songs of his. He must have been singing more because he's better today than he was back then, but age is still affecting his singing.
