I'd always feel guilty eating meat and I'd make up silly excuses/brush it aside but I have been a vegetarian for 6 months now and slowly making my way to becoming a vegan. There is no going back. I don't feel guilty and I feel much healthier. Joan and others inspire me!

I'm personally a vegetarian, but I'm trying to get into the right mindset to become a vegan. The only thing separating my vegetarianism from pure veganism is my love of these Morning Star soy burgers that contain egg white and milk. That's one thing I would love for people to understand more: the difference between vegetarians like me and vegans like this fantastic woman Joan Jett. :) Just an idle thought... :3

Joan is amazing. I have been a huge fan of hers since I first learned of her in980. She still amazes me. She's not just a rock legend, she's a beautiful spirit. I've been moving toward being a vegan, when I learned Joan was vegan, I was very stoked! Right on!

Humans can survive perfectly without meat. I am quite healthy myself and I'm a Vegetarian. For those who bash Vegetarians (and I'm talking to the ones insulting Vegetarians, not the ones saying they aren't Vegetarians) don't bash something just because YOU think it's wrong. For those who worry about our (we Vegetarians) health, please don't because we're perfectly fine and we can manage but thanks for the thought. I (like Joan Jet) don't really think about protein and stuff much. I just live.

Only a small amount of the plants animals eat becomes flesh. Most of the calories go towards building things you don't eat--bones, feathers, fur, etc--plus, they burn calories just from being alive. Anyway, it sounds nuts to hear someone defend murdering animals. I can't believe I'm having this conversation.

My daughter became a veg @ 14 and holds true to herself at 28. She eats eggs, (organic, cage free) tofu isn't that bad either. The prob I have w/ her is that she consumes far too many calories via pasta, cheese, etc. Now, she is nursing my Grandson Tiberius without good protein.

You have to be careful, with whatever you eat. Even your vegetables, because those can have bacteria on them as well, nothing is truly safe if you don't take precautions. I'm an animal lover, but I eat meat rather it's occasionally or not I still it eat it. It's possible, I even think about what animals go through to feed me, and I pray for them, but I also think certain animals were meant to be eaten. I also think as a "meat eater", you can be just as healthy and energetic as someone vegan.

@MizTypical @ahadnagy167 you'd be surprised at how child like chickens are (and of course other animals) such intelligent animals..i have three myself (Eex batts) and to think how cruelly mistreated these animals are on such a regular basis just brings me to tears. it really does. and i bet you can blame joan's fantastic aging down to her vegetarian diet! ditch the meat..trust me. you won't regret it! thicker hair, better skin, better nails and just all round good health.
