Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is an epic album and is forever a classic. Lauryn's vocal tonality, her cadence and swag will forever be forever. There is nothing wrong with having a preachy album...Marvin Gaye had a preach record, Curtis Mayfield, TLC, Bill Withers, Dixie Chicks,...I mean I am sure if I sit here and think long enough a lot of artist have produced "preachy" (which is not the best term to use) records. James Brown, Sam Cooke, Madonna, ....I mean really....The correct term is she produced a rich philosophical album. She is an artist.

Not a feminist, Black first. But it seems everything is someone else's fault with Black men. The reason they are violent, "single household", Black Women' fault. The reason they aren't in their children's lives, "she don't want me there", Black Women's fault. The reason they don't use condoms and have multiple children, "gotta keep your legs closed" Black women' fault. The reason they don't marry, "Marriage is a scam, or I'll never get married, or Don't want to be tied down to gold digger/thot/miss independent", Black Women's fault. The reason they are so broken, "Mom raised me, she failed, dad just wasn't there", Black Women's fault. How long do Black men plan on placing blame for their actions on Black Women ALONE? Where is the self reflection? As a COMMUNITY, we need to work together. Liberalism and feminism isn't the problem, it's the broken black community. Black Men need to take responsibility for their actions and Black women need to recognize feminism isn't the answer to the issue.

Joi, I concur. I too recalled going to a black salon and the nerve of the hairdresser/stylist suggesting I perm it. I had to walked her how to wash, three times and not be once. What bothers me even more, she kept talking on her phone and around the salon, doesn't folks know not to be talking over someone's hair while handling such. I had to tell her although my hair is natural and a little nappy, it can be roller set, she had the nerve to want to blow dry my wet hair. So I left without paying. So I found myself a Latino hair salon, Dominican, and for the past 13 yrs, I go get my hair wash and deep conditioner and roller set with no problems and no worries of sort, and my stylist/shampoo lady, Ms Lizbeth, never kept talking over my hair nor be on the phone chit chatting. The client is priority and not every client goes to a salon wants to partake in the bangerang of unprofessionalism

How can you command respect when women like nikki minaj is out there out of control. How can you desire respect when you're acting like animals on reality shows. @11:17-11:30 That is because women require different needs versus a man. Plus childbirth can halt and put a damper on certain contractual obligations (i.e., concerts, albums, shows, features). So a woman carrying a child during a music career is a potential liability for businesses, granted it is not planned, at the right time. @11:44 Ummmm...because, you have a human in your stomach (unless you decide not to keep). Serena did it. Janet Jackson did it. Several women did it, to protect and make sure their offspring was brought to the world as safe as possible. @11:53 There is a time and place for everything. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. @11:55 And that is your responsibility as well. @12:23-12:30 There you have it. It is about long-term thinking folks. Like I said, there is a time and place for everything. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. @12:33-12:40 There you have it, Yet again. Like I said, Plus childbirth can halt and put a damper on certain contractual obligations (i.e., concerts, albums, shows, features). So a woman carrying a child during a music career is a potential liability for businesses, granted it is not planned, at the right time. @12:50 No they don't. The two that participated in the act, of procreation, create that scheduled. @24:16 Certain types of preaching is needed. If anything the album was doing what parents do their children, granted peer pressure doesn't over influence the child. @24:35 I say, "Go listen to something else". @26:07 She definitely not any of that. She is the total opposite of that. @28:50 This is why contracts are important. Because a person will (try to) take credit for your work. In the words of Che Vicious, "...There was label pressure to do the Prince thing - written and produced by..." @30:37 Yes but, the (shadow) figure heads are pushing the likes of Cardi B, Tiffany Haddish to the forefront. Lauryn made you, think and check yourself, it was relatable. Ill take that over Lean and pills any day. Maybe, the industry was not somewhere she could grow. She did her work and ✌she is out.
