Thanks rblusc, but why on earth do those who post such gems not state where, when and with whom they took place, as a matter of course? Do they imagine nobody would want to know, or be interested? It puts me off subscribing to their particular channel. Also, how was the excerpt obtained, eg a radio broadcast, etc?

Can you read? Read the title: where? NEW YORK. When? 1979. As for other data, if you really wish to know, you can always humbly ask for more information. You should also consider the not so unlikely possibility that the uploader may not have knowledge of everything you would like to know.

Such a famous concert. If you say Sutherland NY 1979 - you also say with Pavarotti - conducted by Bonynge, Avery Fisher Hall. It was and remains one of the GREATEST operatic events ever. Period.
