I’m a 63 year old Brit. First heard this tune when I was 12, played by Stephane Grapelli on a live album recorded in London. It was the first time I cried while listening to music - never forgotten it. Elia has obviously heard that version and this is so beautiful. Been following Scott since 1977 so full of love and admiration for what he’s given the world. As for Joan Chamorro , has there ever been a greater guiding light for young Spanish jazz musicians. Inspirational is a vastly over used word but you truly are my friend. Thank you all.

Lost track of how many hours I've spent listening and watching the tremendous talent of the Sant Andreu Jazz band under Joan Chamorro. Beyond all the compliments for the artists, I want to especially thank you, Joan for your energy and soul. I enjoy your expressions when your students have performed an amazing solo. It has to be rewarding. All of the performers play with amazing intonation and jazz expression, well beyond their age. I notice also the quality of the recordings, the lighting, your arrangements; it's everything ! And by the way my cousin began taking violin lessons. I told her, first you must watch the Jazz Kids, then listen to Elia because she's right up there with Grapelli and Asmussen. What an inspiration she is!

Joan Chamorro has breathed life into a group of young people, instilled a sense of wonder & creative exploration - enjoying each moment in its wonder & joy... To have done that over the last 14 years (+), from 2006 & ongoing..Amazing..Incredible !! To do that with the beauty of Jazz & Improv.. To create that distillate of pure, refined, fresh essence of the spirit of Jazz.. To enthuse so many, to reach such a wide global audience, that appreciates seeing a living , breathing, creative force,,a tour de force..an entire jazz ecosystem, living, breathing Jazz... Full of Fun & participation.. To embue the young with so much confidence, and energy & skill... In their gifts.. In their self expression.. In playing & sharing & contributing together.. so multi talented, so naturally, versatile, each of them ...Playing so many instruments so effortlessly.. Incredible ! Wondrous ! Divine !! Bless you Joan Chamorro & all your wondrous musical offspring for the creation of something as wonderful as the San Andreu Jazz Band, the School of Music, and beyond to these new mature groups, Andrea Motis et al - I'm very partial to Luigi Grasso's expressiveness & Joan Marti in playing "Laura" & all the others, Elia, et al - bringing out the best in our youth, and divinely inspired ! No Doubt of it !! Vaya Con Dios !!

I dare to add: Joan Chamorro is perhaps the most important and effective effort Worldwide to maintain "the spark" of love for Jazz. And what is still more important, he does it attracting very young people, first instilling love for the music, then showing by example that the world of music should always be democratic and all- encompassing, with a genuine collective spirit of collaboration, and no false stardom-competition. I give my sincerest and deepest respect and thanks to Joan Chamorro.

Overwhelming. It's the first time since I've been commenting on these videos on youtube that I've literally ended up with tears in my eyes. And it's not something that happens to me often, on the contrary ... But what Èlia, Scott and the maestro Munné do with this beautiful song is pure magic, pure sensitivity, pure feeling, pure heart. They have brought out of me emotions that I thought were lost a long, long time ago. Elia Bastida in all her splendour, the authentic, marvellous jazz violinist, worthy successor of the great Stephane Grappelli. Very few performers on the current world jazz scene can match Elia on the violin, and I doubt that any will be above her. In this beautiful and immortal theme by Hoagy Carmichael Carmichael Elia is absolutely sown, with a technique and a feeling that reaches the depths of the spirit. Joan Monné and Scott Hamilton also play their part and their solos, I can't imagine how the theme can be played better. Scott has already been mentioned a thousand times, a world great. Joan is a fantastic pianist and an extraordinary arranger. Chamorro and Xirgu, outstanding in their indispensable rhythmic accompaniment. I can only congratulate and thank them for this wonderful gift to the ears and to the spirit. This version happens to be my favourite, along with Addison Frei's different but complementary piano version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4S4iZeMfKakatE
