Me too Ralph especially since I lost all motivation to pick up a half dozen different kinds of horns laying around in cases in my house. My piano; haven't touched the keys in 15+ years, time I got cripple on the job. Still no excuse now. Listening to music brings me joy and peace, and who knows what I'd sound like playing music today though Ive played professionally. I miss my horns and piano though their there 12 and 40 feet away as I type this, yet I've lost the desire to play. Now that's some weird shit!

Les veillées avec les anciens qui sortaient violons et guitares des vieilles armoires fissurées par les ans et nous jouaient tous les airs de Stéphane et Django. Merci Joan pour tout votre travail depuis tant d’années ! Merci de permettre à tant de jeunes d’apprendre à côté des anciens. How old memories when I was a kid, come back to me while listening to Elia Bastida and your wonderful trio. The evenings with the old ones who released violins and guitars from the old cabinets cracked by the years and played all the tunes of Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. I had the good fortune of meeting Stéphane Grappelli and to hear him in an open air concert in Québec City. Élia sounds as good or better than he did - and she is still very young and developing her skills. Who knows how high she will get. And to pair her with Ignasi Terraza who in my opinion is the best jazz pianist playing today - just marvellous. Keep it going.

Like others I say this far too often, but it just cant get any better, can it? Just a beautiful rendition of Stardust, then that great McKenna-esque left hand from Ignasi, then just powerful swinging at the end. And then the capper is that freeze-frame at the end with Elia smiling at Scott and Joan’s expression of joy in the background. What a way to start the day! Thanks everyone!

Elia has astounding violin technique which is fitting for a Grapelli tribute. Scott Hamilton is always excellent and Ignasi is superb. Thanks to bass viol master Joan for another excellent jazz video. Marvelous and entertaining.

Elia plays with such a swing on a very difficult instrument that I loose my breath.Her lines are so great.that it reminds me of Svend Asmussen (the great danish violinist that toured all over the wold ,but unfortunaly died reasently 100 years old) Many classical violinist shoud listen to Elia alhough its another genre.Hope to hear you Joan in Copenhagen . Just started my day with this uplifting sound. Please thank the cameraman. It was great as a very late beginner pianist to see Ignasi's flying fingers, Scott's sheer pleasure in Elia''s swing - a significant tribute from a man who played with Benny Goodman. Topping it off is seeing Carla and Pablo graduate to accomplished public performance after years of dedication as students. Joan, of course, the rock behind it all.
