They are from Sant Andreu which is part of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. While I date this video to Easter of 2013 and really love her presence as a singer (also in Rosetta), it's a sad fact that Paula has left the band in 2015. Paul from Germany

Paula, excelente vocalista y trombonista que podía haber hecho una buena carrera en la música, pero hace años decidió dejarla y ahora trabaja como directora de arte en una empresa de telecomunicaciones. Ella misma nos lo cuenta en su página pública de Linkedin. Como aficionado al Jazz y fanático de la Sant Andreu Jazz Band siento mucho la pérdida, pero respeto absolutamente su decisión, por supuesto, cada uno enfoca su vida por donde quiere y como quiere. No parece que vaya a volver a la música. Al hilo de esto, quiero hacer una reflexión: de los ochenta y tantos chicas y chicos que han pasado por la SAJB desde su creación en 2006, sólo unos pocos han dejado la música: la citada Paula, los baterías Joan-Aleix Mata (periodista en Catalunya Radio) e Iván Cervantes (enfermero), la saxo y flautista Irene Mata (ingeniera industrial), la vocalista y trompetista Ruth Margüenda (escritora y redactora), los trombonistas Paula Esteban (hermana de Alba, que anda ó andaba por la gimnasia rítmica) y Max Vernet (waterpolista en la liga alemana), el saxofonista Eugeni Mas (trabaja de nutricionista) y una a la que le he perdido completamente la pista, la vocalista y saxo Helena Pañart . Y algunos más del 2006 y 2007, cuando la banda aún estaba muy en pañales. En total, alrededor de 12, como mucho. Todos los demás siguen en la música. Ese ratio indica muy claramente el enorme éxito del método de enseñanza del maestro Chamorro y de su fantástica capacidad para inculcar el amor por la música a los chavales. [ Por cierto, para los / las demasiado susceptibles: no soy de la CIA, ni del Mossad, ni del KGB, ni siquiera un oscuro investigador privado como en las pelis de cine negro 😂. Toda la información que acabo de dar es pública, está en internet colgada por los propios interesados para que cualquiera pueda verla. Así que me limito a repetir lo que ellos mismos quieren que se sepa ].
