Of all of the channels I've watched to learn to knit, yours is the most easily understood for me! I am always so happy to see new video from you Joanne! Thank you for your instruction and helping me out with such simple patterns. I've been knitting for only 18 months and without you I wouldn't be where I am today! I love you to pieces! xoxo

Wow..lovely ...when I bind off in pattern it would be a zigzag fini
@andreaseastrand99872 жыл бұрын
Very nice! I learned, the hard way, that the bottom zigzag takes a bit to build up, especially if working a large piece like a blanket. Also, if I want to make the sections bigger, would I double everything? So CO multiple of 24 +2? Knit first row, knit 2, knit 12, knit two together twice, and so on… 🤔
@JoannesWeb2 жыл бұрын
To make the sections wider, you need to increase the number of stitches in the repetition.

Garter Chevron Stitch Multiple of 12 plus 1 (plus 2 for the edges) Repeat from * to * Cast on any way you wish. I used the long tail cast on. Base Row.- Knit the whole row. Every row.- knit 1), knit 6, *knit 2stitches together, knit 4 stitches, knit the front and the back of the next stitch knit 5 stitches* End the row with.- *knit 2stitches together, knit 4, knit the front and the back of next stitch, (knit 1. @JoannesWeb, when it comes to cast off, will the edge still be chevron? If not, how does one create a chevron cast-off, to match the other end?
@JoannesWeb Жыл бұрын
Yes. The edge is still chevron. Make sure you're binding off in pattern.

what does multiples of 12 plus 1 and then in parentheses you have plus two can you explain this please
@JoannesWeb Жыл бұрын
The pattern itself is a multiple of 12 stitches= 12, 24, 36...plus 1. Then you add 2 more stitches one for each edge.
@midnightpassion43 Жыл бұрын
Does anyone know how many stitches she cast on????

39. Multiple of 12 plus 1. Plus 2 (one for each edge)

How can I make it zigzaggy on the bind-off edge? 🙂
@JoannesWeb3 жыл бұрын
Follow the pattern as you bind odd.
@joanchurchill429 Жыл бұрын
Why do I have 8 on one end and 7 on the other?
@JoannesWeb Жыл бұрын
Try it. You will notice that when knitting front and back and 2 togethers, the stitches fall differently at the beginning than at the end.

I dont know how to end this pattern when it is time to bind off. I read the instructions but it isnt clear to me. Do u just bind off when u get the the length that u want? Will it keep the pattern ?
@JoannesWeb2 жыл бұрын
Yes. The triangle shapes will be the opposite as the start, Bind off in pattern.
