Ive always liked rooney (and Joaquin too) but I feel like a lot of people (t least in the media and hollywood) give her a tough time because she can be shy and is somewhat different than your traditional leading lady in Hollywood. Im amazed at her ability to do all the interviews and red carpet stuff when she obviously doesnt like that aspect so much...but she does it and tries hard to satisfy everyone and be nice. I fairly sure she has pretty bad anxiety when it comes to that kind of thing so it must be quite hard for her, hundreds of people taking pictures and screaming at her and such. Shes lovely and I like how shes different. Shes one of a kind, I think shes rad.

I absolutely agree with you! Not everyone has that showy media personality and that's totally okay! I can relate to Rooney to some degree :) And I actually prefer actresses and actors who are more concerned about their craft than about interviews, photoshoots and etc. :)

The interesting thing is, Joaquin has severe social anxiety too. They’re pretty similar in that way. I’d say Joaquin got a lot better at standing infront of a crowd or paparazzi when you compare it to some older red carpet footage. Also on talkshows he got quite confident but you can still always see they both don’t like being the centre of attention. They really got a lot of courage for pushing themselves to go on those big stages and big events everytime. I really relate to that cuz I’ve got social anxiety too, so it’s nice seeing someone be so real on those stages

I remember watching them interact during the Her press tour and hoped that neither one had a significant other, because he/she should be very worried. Between Joaquin’s shameless flirting and Rooney’s poor attempt to hide that she was loving his attention (poor girl never stood a chance against all that charm), it was obvious that these two people had formed a serious connection. I gotta admit that it sounded a bit weird, but in other interviews of Rooney she said that during that meeting they read the script together. She played her role of Catherine and Spike Jonze played Theodore. Rooney also told that Spike is a really good actor himself. So, I think that this was just a bad choice of words.
