Holy shit, so that's how they bring the D-bags in! Sweet video! I was originally supposed to be on this jump, well, for the day. Instead they put me on the jump on Sunday for 1/321 AFAR.

We didn't circle for hours though. They flew to Charleston, then returned.

On this particular mission, This wasn't about getting pilots there hours. Not to get all OPSEC. But there were several types aircraft, different airframes with different loads in them. The AF had checkpoints to complete and time adviseries to achive them in. This was a more of a big picture senerio to get multiple aircraft in from all different directions to converge on a small piece of real estate at a pre determined time. Imagine now, we AF guys had to do this for real? cont...

Nice. Yeah I heard the race tracking was long as hell. I'm not a fan of circling for hours when the DZ is just a few miles away.

That guy belongs to the Air Force. He is the load master. He makes sure everything goes smooth inside the aircraft. The C- 130 aircraft belongs to the Air Force not to the 82nd AIRBORNE. The 82nd Airborne's paratroopers go to Pope Field , a USAF airbase. Then the Air Force's aircraft fly them over a drop zone.

So yeah, It sucks to be up there flying around for 3 hours. Believe me, I wanted you guys out of the plane as fast as possible too. But if you think some Captain took it upon himself to fly you guys around NC/SC for a 3 hour ride so he build hours for that job with United Airlines, your mistaken. That was the Army & USAF planning folks (JOAX SHOT CALLERS) who made up the routes. Not the pilots. I'm not jumping your shit, just clarifying a myth. A bad one at that. __ All the way!__

Oh I know. I'm just saying, it sucks when the AF pilots get their hours by circling us for hours when Normandy DZ is right there.

The guy wearing the 'chute is the safety, not the LM. The LM is wearing a harness to make sure he does't get jump pay. He'd rather close the door after y'all are gone and collect triple what jump pay is in flight pay. Great video, Badger, it takes me back! You guys flying H2 1/2's, right?
