Radios aren't meant to be dropped but they should have good sound quality, the Milwaukee has the best audio and reception plus all the features therefore I don't see why people are complaining

To be fair I own the Milwaukee radio that you tested first. And I launched it across my garage while having a childish temper tantrum. the garage is 30 feet I threw it from the door to the back wall, bounced it off the back wall and onto the concrete. It works perfectly a year or so later.

Awesome tool fight guys! Well worth the wait. I've got the PB360D without Bluetooth and it is an awesome radio. I wishe I had the Bluetooth but an audio jack takes care of that. I'd love to try out the Dewalt but my Bosch will never die and sounds awesome so alas....no replacement. The problem I have had repeatedly with Milwaukee, 4 duds. All new tools. Dewalt has really proven their mettle again! Bosch? Well Bosch is like Dewalt to me. Slow to introduce the new stuff but when it pops out it is high quality. The Ridgid was amazing. Proof again that they make solid tools. Awesome video and thanks for taking the time to do this one!

I got the Ryobi (already having their power tools and 3 batteries). The radio was on promo - $129 Canadian ($100 US) with a FREE battery (2Ah) and charger bundle. Great radio for sound quality but the buttons on the top are hard to use (and it does have bass and treble adjustment) but no protection for phone while charging and will only fit 5.5" and smaller.

Awesome review. Already planned to get the DWST08810 for my growing 20v collection, but it was good to see how durable it was and how many people (not just this video) rave about the sound quality. I've started clearing out old stereo equipment because of that, and use it in my office during the day now. I see mine has a foam block on the battery door to keep it from coming loose, but I'm considering trying glue or epoxy to build up a lip for the battery clip anyway for a bit better fit. After the water test I won't worry about putting it out next to the pool for my kids either!

Fun video guys. I have both the Bosch and Milwaukee units. I like them both, but I think in a head to head, the bosch unit would last longer. That being said, I use the Milwaukee unit much more because it sounds louder.
@DarkRaptor998 жыл бұрын
Milwaukee did redeem its self at the end of the video, but owning one like you I knew it might not do well. The Milwaukee radio is pretty heavy, and really doesn't have that much protection on it. I wonder if some connector broke inside on the first unit. I called it when Dan was talking about the radios on periscope and which one died first I called it that it was the Milwaukee.

the dewalt tough system is actually 5 speakers not 6 , it has 4 main speakers and then one subwoofer on the base, there is an auxliary bass radiator on the base that is just a tuned diaphragm that only moves at certain bass frequencies to give a deeper bass, it doesnt have a voice coil or magnet.If you open it up you will see it doesnt have the basket, voice coil or magnet that the subwoofer next to it has.

It would of been nice if you guys plugged in the wires that came loose on the Milwaukee radio at the end, just to see if it still would have worked. It appears it would have, seeing the logic board was on one side of the radio (still intact) while the power supply was on the other side of the radio (still intact). It's also pretty amazing how much that radio cost, when it appears that the inside of the radio has more space than parts.

55' drop was a ridiculous test! Hell the drop test from the loader from about 12' was ridiculous. Job sites have these radios on the ground or sitting on the floor. Now if you had thrown them off the back of a truck as the truck was going 55 miles per hour that would be a worthy test. I can see that happening.
@breeze7876 жыл бұрын
Or better yet set a bundle of 2x4'x8's on the radio. Another endurance test is drop from 25' or a 2 story house a pack of roofing shingles on the radios.
