This has been the best review of radios that I’ve seen. Well done!👍🏾

I used the Flex at our Job site and it's very noticeable how much more full the sound is on my buddies DeWalt. Sounds so much better and the battery charging is a huge plus for sure.

I use the Metabo HPT because it is very compact, the controls are basic and intuitive, it gets great reception, and the sound is great. Nobody on the crew misses the fancy features. Just give us good sound and stay outta the way.

Amen to the vote of confidence for the Bosch! I have had the Deluxe for over 10 years and have not found anything to be its equivalent. Remember the ad where they launched it from a trebuchet? Epic!

Wish you would’ve rearranged the playing/demo order as to highlight the Bosch’s subwoofer as both examples played the beginning of tracks which didn’t illustrate this range.

Hate to make judgments listening through earbuds, but since we are comparing, it sounds like the Ryobi has the best overall total balance. A few of the others had egregiously large boosts or cuts at certain ranges within the frequency spectrum.

12:35 I am curious about whether your Bosch is comparable to the older Deluxe model which I have. I knew that they discontinued the Deluxe model because of the extra performance because of the costs, but I wouldn't settle for less. Mine is more than 10 years old and still performs great! I am rather particular about audio quality. I just now changed the battery in the included remote control. I even printed up a label that I installed on the top handle that said, "It is not yours, so don't touch ". I didn't have any Bosch 18 v batteries so I didn't care if it didn't charge. I can't think of a better jobsite radio, I now use it in my garage. Great video. Thanks. If you can remember the ads for this was that the radio was launched from a trebuchet and it still worked. Impressive indeed.

The dewalt one hands down is the best. mine survived hurricane ida, blew the roll up doors out the shop stuff everywhere radio just needed to be blown off still as loud and bassy as ever

The Dewalt was very brash and bright sounding IMHO. No bass. You may like that quality.

I don’t think I would waste my money on that Milwaukee from the people I have talked to their not much , break in about six months. That DeWalt and Bosh are great from what I have seen. Can’t speak for the other ones. The Milwaukee hard pass

The milwaukee radios I've tried didn't last very long..
@jameshodgins19372 ай бұрын
Wouldn't the number one consideration be what tools you have and buy a radio based on your tools. Why buy the Milwaukee if you have DeWalt tools??? Why not just wear noise canceling earbuds?

Nice, quick review! You simplified the results to what matters. In spite of the many opportunities for sound coloration I can hear the differences in each model. Nicely done.
@racerxforever2765Ай бұрын
It sounded to me like the Dewalt sounded crisper and had more range The Bosh and Hilti sounded good as well. The Milwaukee sounded like it was flat in range.

From AMAZON, WOW, Pass on the Bosch. "It sounds great, and I got it at a great price. However, I was familiar with the Bosch radio that DOES charge batteries as well. The fact that it doesn't charge batteries is a deal breaker for me. One star!

Do you use DAB in the US. What about a Makita comparison. No other brand has a colour display I think, and the sound is pretty good.

No, DAB is not used here in the states. We do have XM satellite radio, which is superior in terms of channel variety.

I have that bosch radio and the reception sucks, only 2 or 3 stations work. Keep in mind our warehouse is surrounded by metal and wood 1 floor above us. That is my only issue with it sound is ok tho i think milwaukee definitely beats the bosch in sound bass quality and radio signal. ✌️

Does anyone know if you can boost the FM reception of the FLEX jobsite radio? Maybe something in the AUX port? My radio is indoors and just catches whiffs of the fm station I enjoy

i appreciate the effort but i realized about halfway through that you're just going to pick the one you have batteries for anyways unless you can run them off battery adapter plates without a problem. that would actually be a great tool for that since the added bulk of the adapter wouldn't matter much on a radio. also surprised to see that most of these don't' have that much power output in terms of watts as they look like.
@beemer5672 ай бұрын
@@kentyler3962 i have a compact speaker that runs off on a 9 cell pack that has 90 watts, it looks about as big as the ridgid maybe smaller so i was a little disappointed with the performance on these. it last all day but i don't like having to bring it to power and plug it in I'd much rather slide a new pack in. i would have assumed they drive these harder since you can have bigger batteries and multiple but looks like most of them are designed to run all day maxed on a 5 cell 2ah battery. i bet that 40v speaker bumps. now I'm thinking about a way for me to plug m12 batteries into mine
@davids84932 ай бұрын
How would you think that they don't have every battery platform that is available? They do this for a living! They literally are a tool testing company.
@beemer5672 ай бұрын
@@davids8493 I was talking about the consumer most likely only getting the radio that works with their tool batteries. in hindsight you could say that about any cordless tool review i guess
@thistledownwoodcraft34263 ай бұрын
Good review, missing one thing. How long will it play on a battery.
@kentyler39622 ай бұрын
That would depend on several factors, such as listening volume and battery capacity.

Get one that operates on plug and battery so you don't have to worry about that. Only initial framers and concrete guys have to worry about no power.

Dewalt...the Bosch is nice but that sub speaker on bottom not protected...it could get easily damaged
@davids84932 ай бұрын
Why do you think that it was placed on the bottom? And with a screen? Nothing is going to fall on it. Are you going to put it down on top of a 2" x 4" with a spike coming out of it? Are you serious?
