Here's my review of the NECA 7 inch Ultimate Gipsy Danger with LED light! Pacific Rim is a mecha / kaiju film directed by Guillermo del Toro, who is a proven weeaboo. It is one of my favorite movies even though it is technically dumb.

In the prequel comic they explain why they didn't use the sword before. The kaiju blood, while beautiful, is impossibly toxic, and getting it all over a city of mixing it into the sea would be a real bad idea, so they prioritise blunt force trauma from punching. FUCK YEAH

2:35 Raleigh might have known about the sword, but they (the Gipsy Danger pilots) saved it till the last-minute because earlier in the film they established that Kaiju blood was incredibly toxic. The sword would get Kaiju blood _everywhere,_ while the plasma cannons would cauterize wounds and prevent the stuff from getting too far.

Also, Del Toro said he was planning a Pacific Rim/Godzilla x-over before the first one was in theaters, but no one can figure out how he's going to do it because 'Zilla isn't the same type of Kaiju that these are in Pacific Rim. You would think that if 'Zilla was around that he would have woken up and beat the crap out of these other Kaiju right alongside the Jeagers. Oh well, here's hoping :D

The sequel designs remind me a bit of EVA design, but the first one reminds me more of that mecha suit from the game metroid. Also, EVA are biomechanical beings, while Pacific Rim are purely mecha like the other 99% of mecha

OK I'll argue the sword #UmActually Now it was established earlier in the film that Kaiju blood was poisonous to humans so the sword is more likely a last resort weapon. Notice they use weapons that will pierce and explode/burn the skin or heck even just punch it in the face therefore minimizing the amount of blood spilt by the Kaiju. A sword would leave a bloody mess and therefore cause harm to the populace. That is why it is only a last resort weapon. In the scene, both plasma cannons are RIP in pieces and punching it does nothing to weaken the Kaiju so you know what that means.... sword time :^)

i had a lot of problems with this figure, most of the time the light up didnt even work, and on top of that the part with the interchangeable fore arms just broke clean off when i tried to switch the guns with the regular arms. i ended up returning it and getting it 4 different times before i just gave up (other than that great fig)

I have that gipsy danger too and it is very very hard to put the arms on because by the time I got it and open the box the gipsy danger came with the plasma arms and when I put on the ruguler arm it was lose because I pushed it to hard on the right arm then it became really lose on the right arm but the left arm was not lose

「The Planet 」 Yeah, it was pretty dumb, but i still enjoyed the movie, mostly due to the action scenes. Still, i was hoping the plot would be more profound. I know it's not Evangelion, but i had hoped they would touch on the implications of having to share your memories with another person, which is a bit creepy. And they should've emphasized more on the mental trauma of losing a brother in battle and retaining his memories, and being forced to share those memories with another person. It just feels like lost potential.

The idea of Mako designing and incorporating a sword is actually a concept that, if you look at Guillermo del Toro's character notes, was around from the very beginning, tying in to certain parts of her childhood.
