At first I saw it all is a joke. But the demonetization joke made me raise a brow, a lot of channels sponsor their videos and try to make it kid friendly for revenue and some take it too far, Jobby has so many parts of his channel that he can’t actually concentrate on anything. It’s driving him insane. He’s trying to remove the trash and keep the treasure, hence him trying to kill JobbyTheSong and keeping the newest ones like gamer jobby and artist jobby. He doesn’t know what to do anymore, example: him deciding not to kill artist jobby. I’m really intrigued for he future of this channel but at the same time, I’m scared to know what will happen next. Jobby if you’re reading this, I hope you’re okay. We all care for you.

This video references End of Evangelion, The Dark Knight, The Room, and Shin Gojira all while recontextualizing every recreated scene to such a degree that they work seamlessly together in this story of a man consumed by his past, desperate to kill it and make something of his life only to finally accept that his past will haunt him until the day he dies no matter how hard he tries to fight it.

I love the song that Jobby sings as he makes his way to where he thinks theSong is. It just feels like a song for the fun of it the first time and goes over your head, but rewatching it makes it painfully obvious foreshadowing that it's been part of him from the start. Or maybe it's just me being dumb and not noticing it until rewatching it.

To be honest, I LOVE the short film aesthetic of this one. Kind of a Filthy Frank way of doing things, Jobby keeping the little hints of “continuity” between different videos and personas, and that slight bit of insanity throughout every single one, filled with cinematic decay and the constant feeling of real emotion and existentialism behind it all. You’ve created a masterpiece, Jobby. For both the year, and the 4 years it’s been.

I dont know how many times I've watched this video, but honestly it's because on the level it speaks to me. I know it's an existential crisis and I feel that it hits close to home since that's how I've been feeling lately. There has been many parts of me that I have tried to get rid of or forget throughout the years and yet for some reason old friends of mine always bring up my past and things we used to do. I used to hate it. It would upset me at the embarrassment that I would feel because I felt like that wasn't me anymore. Yet, as time has gone by I've become (or at least have been trying to be) more accepting of my past. I think this put it into perspective for me in a way that I would've never guessed. Whether it be a real struggle you are going through or not Jobby, I thank you for this. It made me think a lot on myself and really did give me some trains of thoughts to follow about my past and present self. Amazing video. One of the best without a doubt. 100% worth the wait.
@mockingladmockery38606 жыл бұрын
When things like that happens, you need to show them how much of a changed man you are. I couldn't show them cause they have some degree of expectations on me but I felt like it was a time to change and the first step of it all was to say sorry when I made an edgy joke. Closer old friends have told me that I have changed. A step back requires improvement but you will always be step ahead of past you. Keep up the changes and be proud of who you are now; don't be embarrassed by the past, nothing to be shy about. It is something that you might not agree but because you had those pasts, you are what you are now. Accept the past and move on, that's what my father has been telling me quite a lot lately..
@skelldro-36676 жыл бұрын
@@mockingladmockery3860 Thank you for that. I have been doing my best to take initiative when confronting these friends when the times come. It's worked out for the most part. Well, I was most definitely right. I knew this would be an amazing video. Was it a reveiw? Yeahhh, but it was more like an extremely well made short film. I can't really see how you can ever top a little flick like this. As you can tell, I was completely blown out of the water by it. I wish I could truely describe how I felt, but I'm so tired that I'm struggling to find words to describe it. If I could sum up use one word to describe this review, it would be "regrets." You regret to make the swivel jokes and understand how they got you to this point. You ultimately regret the choices you made, like killing off Swivelman (the love for the joke) nd the Gundam Ghost (the love for building and painting model kits.) But there's sadness in here too, a dash of anger, and a touch of horror. The perfect video for this month. I can safely say that I was spooked at multiple points and was happy at a few points. The one scene that got me laughing was when you just held up the blistery bastard and said "You know who else is a big boy?" Right after the whole bit with the king was done I was ready for more. What I'm trying to say is thank you. Thank you for not buckling under everyone's constant requests and going your own way. For the great content you keep putting out, even if you don't think it's special of doing well. Just, thank you for the laughs and the pick me ups. He tries to forget, move on, eventually leading to him hating himself and trying to kill the past, but he can't run away from his mistakes. He becomes suicidal after years of self torment eventually leading to him accepting his failures as a human being and acknowledging that there is nothing he could do to make the world forget about his personal demon, the creature who he let ruin his life and potential future, the one we know as the Swivel-Man. By all definitions, this is a psychological horror story with no happy ending.

In the last reviews he had killed swivel man with his thanos click, and the gundam ghost with a saber from a gundam (ironically). however there was still one thing that haunted him the most: JobbytheSong: The "other" Jobby he considers to be the last and final enemy. in order to find JobbytheSong, we see jobby visit "someone he hasn't seen in a long time", the special jobby (can't exactly remember his name), who says that jobby would have to look deeper. Jobby does so (in dramatic fashion must i say), however in the end REALISES that he himself IS JobbytheSong, which is proved through him resulting in singing as well as looking himself in the mirror and seeing JobbytheSong. This means that to truly end it, he would have to end it all, thus the destroying of all his precious toys. however in the end, he realises that he truly felt alone, and regrets killing his past selves. This results in him crying on the floor like a little bitch (jk Jobby i love you). He decides to live, however only to see that there is still one person left: DrawbytheHong, who on impulse tries to kill, but stops himself after remembering the regret he had killing the other two. Now a theory: Maybe Jobbythesong, DrawbytheHing, Swivelman, Gundam ghost and others are not indivdual people, but rather parts of what we know as "JobbytheHong". By killing off parts of himself, he becomes more sad and lonely. Thanks, i'm probably wrong, but i just wanted to give it a shot

Jobbythehong ( youtube character not in real life ) suffers from D.I.D/ M.P.D he had to dealt with this other personalities of his just to be normal again but in the end he choose to accept that they are part of himself without the others his nothing and that makes him unique . . right ?

I can't help but feel how well the song jobby uses fits so well in this. It's a story of a man trying to outgrow everything he used to do because his fans know him more because of a meme than his own work, thus he sets out to kill his 'demons' reminders of things once lived but now bring only embarrassment and despair. This culminates in trying to kill the one thing that everyone enjoyed besides his main work that too is known little about, only to realise that you can't simply kill your 'demons'. Without killing yourself. So ultimately through a sudden breakdown realization that he comes to terms with... everything. And something smart sounding to explain drawby. Happy fourth anniversary pal, hope to see more from you.

This is probably one of my favorite videos that you've ever created Jobby. I've been here for about 2 years now and I've watched the channel grow, and this video was just brilliant. There was so much creativity and such masterful editing and let's not forget the amazing vocals and chords you created in the acapella. I think its so creative that you made the analogy of the last episode of evangelion in coherence with your channel. How everyone wanted Anno-san to write the show and his characters a certain way and he was fed up with all of it and made the last episode the way he did. In the same way you showed the different personas you've created throughout your time on youtube, honestly created as a joke towards those who complained/requested you to make certain videos (gundam jobby). Then ya killed them all off in previous videos prior to this one which was so cool so that you could then tie it in with this one. Overall amazing brillant man. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it but, thank you so much for this video Jobbs. I throughly enjoyed it so much for its content, history, vocals, toy review, and story telling. p.s. - favorite scene has to be the one where you scream and it cuts to the clip of you staring at yourself in the mirror and breaking down. It was really emotional for me and I wanna know your thoughts on the construction of the whole thing. I appreciate you very much Jobby, you've helped cheer me up through a lot of bad times. :)) Keep doing you and create the videos you want to make at your own pace. Plenty of people here just want to support you and watch you because of who you are as person. I know at least thats why I watch you. Hope you get the chance to read this message, and I hope I get the chance to meet and be friends with you.

Coming back to this over a year later and it's still really damn good. Not to mention all the foreshadowing that was at play with the return of some characters being laid in the ground work, and just the overall story of regret and the stages of grief. Omg. Ok, so i think i figured it out. Along the road to cleanse his past, Jobby is warned how delving deeper into his own subconscience will lead him to a painful realisation. Upon going deep down the hole, Jobby realises that JobbyTheSong is truly more than just the past. But a physical part of him. How his fear of the past clouded him. At the end, he sees another part of him in his past. DrawbyTheHong, and still wanting to clean his past, goes to do the deed, but stops. Knowing that continuing would ultimately lead to destroying himself. Stuck in this limbo of torment forever.

I know this is old, and this is like my third time watching this video, but the song Who Will Know perfectly encapsulates, the silent suffering one goes through, especially when trying to come to terms with who or what someone will be remembered as even after they're long gone. Not only that, but also accepting parts of ones past that they do not like and try to suppress or outright kill, it always comes back whether intentionally or otherwise. This video seems like a fun little video, and while it is. If you're willing to dive into it, it goes a lot deeper than just a video. It's the curse of being a content creator, along with the burnout one feels with doing too many things at once, and just trying to find that perfect and happy medium. Even with the monetization; you're more pressured to limit the creative choices of your videos just so you can make a profit over it and not doing it because you simply enjoy it, regardless of circumstances. It becomes a chore and a job more than something to enjoy. This is a way Jobby is essentially venting his fears and frustrations, in a way that seems harmless and fun, while its also about growth and moving on. Using Shin Godzilla's Who Will Know was perfect. The rendition of this song sings a completely different tune from the original, it's more manic than somber with the faster paced song, the stark contrast and beautiful blend of the higher and lower vocals. Where as the original is slower and more melodic, but both songs still carry the same message about pain and suffering. The analog horror elements of the video (a genre I've come to enjoy more recently) is a perfect touch to the overarching theme of the video. Again, Shin Godzilla is the perfect comparison. This video is an underrated masterpiece. Also, the fact that Jobby chose MP-44 over the Infinty Gauntlet will always be funny to me, but weapon choice as comedic as the scene was adds to the darker tones of the video. I could go on and on about why I now find this as one of my favorite jobby videos, but I'll stop here, I've bored ya'll long enough. I feel I've repeated myself over and over.

The first video I ever watched from this channel was the transformers “4” bumblebee review and I really liked it because it kinda reminded me of how I wanted to be a reviewer at one point. And I think, because of jobby I will start reviewing. Also I put a vote video on my channel for the first review so if anyone wants to vote there it would mean something to me. But that’s not the point. What I’m saying is spending as many years as we have with this “man” is a special thing for both him and the audience. He includes us in a lot of things he does and he listens. That is something that a lot of people (such as myself) have missed out on when they were younger. Being included. And if this channel keeps going the way it’s going it can only grow. Because the more people that realise they like this sort of content and that having their opinions listened to appeals to them tells them that they should stick around it. And I love this channel. It’s in my list of favourite channels, and it’s hard for me to find channels that I really like like this by accident. But when it happens, horses aren’t called horses anymore. Jobby, I love you in a bro sorta way and I want you to keep doing everything you’re doing except sad boi hours (being depressed) and know that if you’re at the bottom the only way out, is up. (Something for everyone) If someone comments like a faggot literally best thing to do is give them no attention at all. They just want attention and if you give it to them they’v got their grip and they’ll keep going. And I don’t know how to end this now so ima just say... Your toes, hand em’ over

Each character represents a part of jobby, swivel man represents the swivel gag which was a mainstay of the channel, the gundam ghost represents jobbys desire to build gunpla, Benny represents his greed, and jobby the song represents his desire to make music. He killed both swivel man and the gundam ghost metaphorically and “physically” but he didn’t kill jobby the song, he revived him with this video.
