ARMAGEDDON Clip - "Iron Plate" (1998) Steve Buscemi
When an asteroid threatens to collide with Earth, NASA honcho Dan Truman (Billy Bob Thornton) determines the only way to stop it is to drill into its surface and detonate a nuclear bomb. This leads him to renowned driller Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis), who agrees to helm the dangerous space mission provided he can bring along his own hotshot crew. Among them is the cocksure A.J. (Ben Affleck), who Harry thinks isn't good enough for his daughter (Liv Tyler), until the mission proves otherwise.
Release date: June 30, 1998 (USA)
Director: Michael Bay

Because a good leader doesn’t need to be the smartest or to know the most. He needs to know his limits and LISTEN to those who know more than him. How often do you see in Sci-Fi like Star Trek the Captain listening to the doctor, engineer or scientist?

Late 90s-early 2000s Michael Bay is a fascinating example of "I hope movies like this never, ever get made again" and "Dang, I miss movies like this."

First, this movie was absolutely amazing in every way. A little cheesy at times but never just "okay." Second, Deep Impact has a very, very different vibe. It's much more introspective. It also has one of the top 10 (maybe number 7 or 8) Movie President Speeches of all time. It's nowhere near Andrew Shephard's speech in The American President, but it's still good. Deep Impact is worth watching for that speech alone.

@@LSmith12xJust as the boss said, you need to know what to look for when mining. Greenies can’t spot bad parts of the area to avoid without hands on training which takes years to learn. And you need teams that has knowledge in different fields.
