This is what I've been looking for so long, I remember watching it once when I was very young but, never know what is the title of this movie because I was amazed by the robots and because it was aired on 09.00pm my parent sent me to bed after 15 minute I watched it. Now I can go in peace

I watched this movie once at age 8-9 I think, with my cousin at his house, and have always wanted to know what movie it was, you forget movie titles from that long ago quite easily. It's funny, the reason I just found out what it was (5 minutes ago actually lol) was my cousin and I were describing a scene in a movie we had both watched at his house where a naked woman walked away from the camera showing her very pretty behind, then his mom walked in on it and freaked out on us, and it had giant robots in it. I haven't thought of this movie in twenty years, and I still kinda feel that nostalgia high lol. Man I wish I was a kid again... Now if I can just find somewhere to watch this movie, it's unavailable on everything...

I watched this as a VHS rental in '92 and then had a slight memory of it for years afterwards with no idea of what it was. Then, a few minutes ago(!), I saw the title when looking at a list of samples used by Nine Inch Nails and intuitively realised it must be that film I saw as a kid! I miss the whole weekend video rental experience from back then...

There is a logic internal to the world building in this movie that made a lot of sense - why have your champions fight in massive robot titans? Why not just have them fight or compete in some more normal feat of strength or skill? The amount of resources needed to build and sustain these giants probably take an immense portion of each of the faction's economic, personnel, and technical output. Assets that would otherwise go to rearming militaries are instead diverted to maintaining the robot gladiator programs.

Tex warning Achilles to watch for Alexander's opening move in the first bout has me thinking: 1. Tex knew the kick was going to happen for sure and didn't want the fight to end that way? 2: Tex knew Achilles would block the kick, but would have slow recovery time allowing Alexander to get the knock down? 3: Alexander, although tricky, has become predictable and Tex guessed correctly?
