Pure titanium isn't very strong, actually. It's VERY strong when mixed in an alloy with other metals. Aircraft certainly don't use it in a high purity form.

titanium is actually a poor choice for a sword. Yeah, it's light, but you need a certain amount of weight to help you out. If it's too light, you actually need to exert MORE strength to actually slice and cut. And that's why steel is a better option entirely

Being a Reaper you are in constant hunger and pain, the only relief is feeding. Blade knew it so prolonging the fight only lead to Nomak wanting to end it quicker.

Guillermo del Toro actually took his reaper virus from the Philippines mythical ASWANG. Yes, the main distinction between vampires and Aswangs is that vampires have fangs and claws, while Aswangs have a long tongue that could pierce through flesh and act as the main feeding tool and Aswangs have fangs and claws too but they are more dangerous than vampires. Aswangs have this oil substance that comes out from their back ( when the small reaper bite thought light-hammer) and armpit and they are animalistic like predators. Also, you have more luck surviving a werewolf than fighting an Aswang.
