That fight was cool but pretty pointless. Neo doesn't have to fight anyone as he can just fly around them and obliterate the Smiths with his speed alone, also he can create forcefields and explosive waves just with his hands, he doesn't have to punch or kick anyone- just a few swings of his arms- and all hostiles are sent flying. But he for some reason refuses to use that power and instead fights normally, I guess from boredom😂.

That fight was fun for maybe 20 seconds. Thennnnnn it got really stupid and a vanity exercise for the VX team et al. Overall it kind of inadvertently showed Neo as a simple brawler and not a good thinker. Which really soured the milk for me.

@@MiguelSanchez-og3pd i mean isn't that what a fight is supposed to do? to show the characters personality in their combat style? i disagree with young loves fuck the haters attitude cause frankly how can you appreciate something great if you ignore anything below good, it's a mentality which makes everything good but never truly above the rest. in this case though yeah it's nitpicky as hell, obviously it's a vanity excersize for the vfx team the series was a forerunner of movie cgi so having a fight scene which could only exist with cgi is a great showcase of why cgi technology is useful, the scene did its job and that's the metric we judge subjective art on, if it achieves the goals it sets out to achieve and god damn does this scene deliver.

Funny thing about the Lobby fight scene (2nd fight). The band performing the song is Propellerheads, and before I knew who they were I had picked up their cd single at a Hot Topic for like $2. After many years watching the Matrix, I happened on my cd again, listened to it and immediately recognized this song. I had this cd for years before I put the two together, but I'm glad I took a chance and bought this cd.

7:55 What always scared me and still amazes me about this whole scene and its choreography... Is how much Neo is having to move, block, counter and evade a group of guys literally waiting around to come in one after the other and throw a half-assed punch or shoulder grab. As I understood it, Neo couldn't change all of the code, only snippets of it without causing the entire Matrix to crash, killing everyone inside. Kind of like actual code in the real world when you modify a few lines thinking it will do one thing but something else happens or the program crashes. The AI apparently didn't follow good coding practices.

This changed movies with the camera angles, the 360 was a wow, I was a film student, and for me this film will never become old, hope if they do a matrix 5 it’ll be better than 4, it was ok enough, but I liked the colour of the film, but seriously they shouldn’t have brought smith nor Morpheus.
