Definitely the best updating/adaptation of Robinson Crusoe ever done. Fun fact: the family in The Swiss family Robinson was not named Robinson. That is hardly a Swiss name. When Robinson Crusoe was published, it was a runaway international best seller. It, naturally, inspired other lost on a desert island books. These were called, as a group, "Robinsons". Thus, The Swiss Family Robinson is not the story about a Swiss family named Robinson but, rather, the Robinson about a Swiss family. The family is actually never named.

Sort of. But as we all know, it is the SELF which either folds under great duress, or approaches the challenges one by one. In this case, volleyball or otherwise, he would've been talking to himself in order to accomplish the same objectives. And more importantly, anger and frustration are HUUUGE enemies during survival situations. As in ginormous foes. The film needed drama beyond the conflict with Nature and Time, though.

What really needed to be shown in Castaway is “Chuck Noland” making soup 🥣 by using using a half coconut 🥥 shell, filing this with slightly salty water, and heating it over a flame 🔥. The coconut won’t burn provided there is liquid in the shell 🥥. Add in fish 🐟 bits, and other sea creatures 🦀🦞 and seaweed 🌱, cook thoroughly but make sure it is stirred constantly. Delicious ! Next … and not for the feint hearted … Chuck captures some of the islands migrating bird life and makes bird stew 🍲 by the same method 🦜🕊🦢. A kind of deserted island 🐓 soup.

If it was me- anything man made washes ashore, I would have a cave or somewhere to store the stuff ( that washes ashore) until I figured out how to use it to help me
