I felt the same damn way. Imagine building a company from the ground up, doing everything to make it number 1. Only to have some piss ant board members sell the shit without your knowledge. And what's worse they fire you from the very company that bares your name. Shiiiit, fuck going Goblin, the moment old boy said "You're out, Norman". This is unfortunately a frequent power play that goes on with any startup founder who takes seed money from a Venture Capital firm. The founders company is then taken over by a board who ensured the company and its politic adhere to that of the VC Firm. You as a founder are then given an ultimatum- you either go with it or you will get replaced by someone who will. Some firms and investors- especially when it comes to pharma- intentionally nuke startups so that the disrupted startup doesn’t affect the status quo of big pharma.

Easier said than done. Going public becomes a necessary evil if you want to continue expanding and play with the big boys. Now, hanging on to 50% - that is more realistic. Harold Ballard knew that, so he always maintained 51% of Maple Leaf Gardens and the Toronto Maple Leafs. And he did whatever he wanted , often times the wrong decisions - but he held on right until he died.

That seems terrible that the board of directors just attempted to try to sell Norman out by selling Oscorp to Quest. Just like General Slocum tried to do in giving Aerospace Quest his funding. Which of the people in this scene are killed in the festival scene, by Green Goblin, besides the two those of them that speak up?
@player2-lightwater914

It started like this. Oscorp have a contract with the military. Their latest project is the Performance Enhancer but it is unstable which one of the scientist, Dr. Strom, suggest that they need to redo the formula. Not impressed, General Slocum threatened to pull the funding if the results are either bad or not able to meet the deadline, he will signed a new contract with Quest Aerospace, whom they are developing a mechanised suit. Under pressure of losing the contract, Norman Osborn tested the performance enhancer on himself which turned him into Green Goblin. As the Green Goblin, he killed General Slocum and Quest execs to prevent the military from signing a new contract with Quest. Eventually, Oscorp managed to secure a long term contract with the military which put the company back in line. However, Quest didn't give up easily because they wanted the military contract that Oscorp have now instead of dealing with the aftermath of their execs' death. Knowing Norman will not sell his company, they secretly made a deal with Oscorp's board of directors to fire him and sell the company to them and in return the BoDs will have large sum of money. By buying Oscorp, Quest Aerospace will inherit the military contract. Oscorp's BoDs then fired Norman and they planned to announced the sale of Oscorp to Quest Aerospace after the Unity Day festival. Not wanting his company to fall into another hand, Green Goblin killed Oscorp's BoDs which prevented them from selling the company to Quest Aerospace.

@@player2-lightwater914 Did it sound like General Slocum wanted to give Quest Oscorp's funding, whether if he had success with his performance enhancers or not? Based on her personality and what he said at the test of Quest's suit. For that didn't seem fair him to do that to him; in addition, the board attempting to sell his company to them. One other thing, since Quest didn't failed to get the military contract. Would they had gone out of business instead Norman's Oscorp?
@player2-lightwater914
@player2-lightwater914 Жыл бұрын
@@matthewkretschmer7010 General Slocum probably was sceptical about it. He also mentioned that if the performance enhancer did not produce good results before the deadline, he will stopped doing business with him and go with Quest Aerospace. Initially, Oscorp's Board of Directors have good relations with Norman. But their greed for more money after Quest Aerospace wanted to buy Oscorp to inherit the military contract, caused them to betray Norman. Would Quest Aerospace go out of business if they did not failed to have the military contract? Unlikely. Since they didn't get the contract, they took a risk by started a hostile takeover on Oscorp by convincing Oscorp's Board of Directors to sell the company to them in return for large paychecks but first, they must get rid of Norman for it to happened.

Oscorp then fired Norman and they planned to announced the sale of Oscorp to Quest Aerospace after the Unity Day festival. Not wanting his company to fall into another hand, Green Goblin killed Oscorp's BoDs which prevented them from selling the company to Quest Aerospace.

Sometimes it's reverse. Sometimes villains are born, not made. Remember: There are two types of evil: Pure Evil and Normal Evil. Difference between them are that villains who are pure evil (examples: Judge Claude Frollo from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter, Bill Cox from Firewall, Frieza from Dragon Ball, Ronan The Accuser from Guardians of the Galaxy, Chucky from Child's Play etc.) are always evil, always have been evil and will always be evil while villains who are normal evil can sometimes redeem themselves and change their ways for better.

Because he went about getting even with those who sold him out in the wrong way. Instead of utilizing his resources and restarting a new company and telling those sellouts to go to hell, he murdered them in revenge. He also allowed that power to go to his head and attack innocent people.
