The movies problems could be blamed for studio and writer conflicts with how the movie direction would go, darker movie could have been interesting if done and wanting something of the same vein as Guardians of the Galaxy would have been great too if done correctly. Truthfully if the movie followed Guardians, Suicide Squad could have been very enjoyable. But these are not the main issues of the movie, the main problems are: the pacing was ridiculously slow and had unnecessary points; the characters acted like just a bunch of generic thieves and criminals NOT dangerous supervillains; one villain is actually does nothing (Diablo) because he's trying to be a pacifist which you have to question WHY is he on the team in the first place; and finally Waller says it was a success even though it was her fault the main villain destroyed so much. The ONLY good that came out of this movie is that they found the perfect actress to play Harley Quinn.
@taionalmeida53373 жыл бұрын
Perfect. The movie could have been made worse by the editing and Studio decisions but the truth is the base material was pretty bad. David Ayer never was outstanding Nor writing Nor directing ... We must remember that even If the editing was unfair to his vision the acting was directed by him. Problems of bad acting are everywhere ... Probably the final movie would be a darker version with less jokes but the same structural problems. There must be no Holy Grail to be found.

I liked it too bro. I could see the problems but i genuinely had a great time in theatres. The cast was perfect and the direction was not offensive or anything. But learning what ayer's cut could've been? I mean its like joss whedon's JL all over again.

i think people are being too overhyped on The Suicide Squad 2021 (honestly). i did enjoyed too the first one and it wasn't necessarily a bad movie nor great, had great fun theatre experience out of it at the time it was released. Being both great experience SS movies, the TSS 2021 in my opinion is Slightly executed right and finally given freedom to the director Gunn's choice. So that made it better this time. Still overall i enjoyed them both with just The Suicide Squad 2021 a bit better.

I think a big reason why the DC universe never works is that one of its biggest properties, Batman, only really works in a dark, gritty universe without super powers and all their other big properties have to be in a much goofier universe where superpowers are a thing and there are aliens and what not flying around. The two universes just don't mix well.

Beyond the studio interference, which was the main reason the movie came out as it did, the original version would've still been a dissappointment (maybe a lesser mess at that, but still a mess). While Fury is one of my fave war movies, I don't particulary like Ayer's ability as a director; but after hearing about him as a person, it sounds thats just a reflection of who he is - he tries to be a serious " _auteur_ " but really he's an above-average hired gun. Like manipulating actors with personal information? Enabling Jared Leto to do the kind of shit he did? Not to mention, while he does sound frustrated with his post-release comments, look at, for example, Snyder. Who had an even worse experience, in my opinion, and still always talked with respect in social media and when giving snippets of the original cut of JL, he credited his cast and crew instead of just expressing his frustrations. Im not saying Ayer didn't had a right to be angry, but I think its your responsability as a filmmaker to know that a film is only made great by the people in front of as much as behind the camera. Dunno, i just feel his comments come of as petty and pretentious and shows an inability to move on. Like - he got paid, he made the movie, most of the blame was put on the studio so his image wasn't neccesarily affected by it, and now he can do whatever film he wants! Grow up man, you're a director with a long career who has collaborted with some of the biggest stars in hollywood, and you're still young for industry standards. Stop wasting your time, stop making a fool of yourself and let it be.

I REALLY want the ayer cut. They already have all the footage, they can simply just add another movie. I hope they listen to us in 2024. I think the ayer cut will be a very dark, perfect for Halloween, or it could just be seen as a darker or to some people; "horror movie". I also would prefer if the Joker was seen as the main villain, because the Enchantress really didn't seem like a good guy, but not enough like a bad guy to be seen as the main villain, it just seemed like a bunch of fighting- no really serious villain. The ayer cut also matches the comics way more, but it is also very unique and original. The current Suicide Squad 1 just seems like a good fighting movie, but there are no details. If you want to buy the extended version, sure you will understand why Harley kept staring at a motorbike in the middle of the road, but most of the movie is unclear.

It all comes down to studio interference. Exactly the same reason the theatrical release of Justice League was a train wreck. Judging by the Snyder cut of Justice League (which I have seen and enjoyed), he had pretty much finished principle photography when he had to leave the production due to the death of his daughter. But rather than take what was in the can and edit it into a cohesive and finished movie, the studio hired “Buffy” creator and “Avengers” director Joss Whedon to finish post production, but gave him Carte Blanche to do his own thing with the project, including leaving half the filmed material on the cutting room floor, ordering expensive reshoots and dodgy post production CGI to cover Henry Cavils moustache that he had grown for his role in Mission Impossible - Fallout. As they say, “too many cooks spoils the broth”
