Pete the Greek has known wrist locks for a couple decades, but he doesn’t utilize them during most sparring situations as far as I can tell. He may occasionally use one, but generally, he will analyze where submissions are available but if he’s not simply trying to win (which he rarely is as he is usually working on something fairly specific that you may have no idea about) he’s not trying to break your wrist off. He can throw so many games at you and switch styles on you and transition so well, but the one common feature that is unbelievable until you’ve experienced it is his top pressure.

I think the pull up thing for some men is the shoulders lock out. I did the SEAL qualifying PT test for a few months because it looked surprisingly easy, just to see if I could do it, and pull ups were also my weak spot. My shoulders would lock out and not let me get another rep in. So for the guys who can’t do them, my suspicion is that it’s the shoulders locking out.

@@johnnynapalm2887 Last I checked, this podcast isn't just about Navy, but about how military experience (yes, primarily Navy) relates to life and business. Pretty sure Jocko has stated that this is the evolution the podcast has taken several times. It's also what Echelon Front does. Consults businesses to improve leadership.

See this is what we lack nowadays... My pap was in 2 wars. I never served but I can damn sure respect the sacrifices of the men and women in our military forces. I was raised on the value of honor. I try to raise my children with those same values I was taught. This is America, this is our future. If you cant do this same thing with your next generation then we are truly lost. I think this point is where we fall short as a nation, as a people.

@@Tyler-kb5lu if you'll send me a cookie I'll take it. The point of the comment isn't that I'm cool and that I still haven't subscribed. The point is that Jocko harasses Echo about reminding people to subscribe and that Jocko thinks people shouldn't to be reminded to subscribe since they've made it this far, 100, 200, and now over 300 podcasts in. I'm just not a subscriber even though I'm a huge fan and have learned a lot.
