I've had dirt and sand bags in my driveway fo do my front yard for weeks. I've cleared the weeds three times - each weekend and put down some of the weed tarp, laid wire for lights, etc. All procrast-urbation stuff. Grab a cold one at lunch time and the neighbors walking their dogs are telling me it's looking good and coming along, "have you been at this since 6 when I was walking this morning?!" I feel accomplished, but really, I should have banged this out in an afternoon instead of messing with loose stones in the retaining wall and then fussing with everything but putting down the dirt, seed, sand and bricks for the walkway. I keep doing just enough and allowing the neighbor's encouragement make me feel good. It started raining minutes ago while I was typing this. I think I'm going to put on my hat and boots and just do this shit now in the rain to get it done. I was going to use the rain as an excuse, but really it'll be miserable and quick.

I just wanna thank the men like Jocko, Echo, Dave, and the others like Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, and Andy Stumpf... Growing up without a father, the oldest of 5... it was rough... and like many fatherless children, I went down a bad, bad path... I pretty much ruined my life throughout my 20s, with drugs, lying, cheating, fighting, and prison time... After my last stint in prison, I barely stayed out of trouble... until I found out I had a daughter on the way... and then I started watching JRE, and saw Jocko, and then Peterson... and that led me to Extreme Ownership. I've taken ownership of my life... I now have a wonderful little family with my wife and two kiddos. It's been rough, but 2 years drug free, I've been with the same company those two years, have doubled my income, and am close to my next promotion... All because I stumbled upon the men who are true men and role models... and taught me what it really is to be a man. I dont think you guys really know the good you're doing in this world... but thank you, for all that you do. Now I'll watch this video. 😂

Echo makes a great point at 8:30. You may always struggle to perform a task when it goes against the prevailing momentum of your day. But how many times have you picked up a screwdriver to fix a major problem - and while the toolbox is out, you also fix a heap of minor ones too, because your head's in that space? Set aside time specifically for the purpose of eradicating the biggest niggle, and my guess is that problems 2, 3, 4 and 5 will topple shortly after.

NGL, to me fixing stuff around the house is cheap mental healthcare, it just soothes my soul. My dad was that way too, he'd fix up the whole house every Saturday and fix up my Gramps place once a month. I try to be that way too. It just feels good. I like bike maintenance and detailing too. That feels real good.

Admiral William McRaven, who has also been on the podcast, talks about it in his book about "Making Your Bed" concept. Annoying minute little details that are easy to procrastinate, but if you just got it over with you could just get on with your day on a positive note, and if you could do it consistently over time, it built a good habit with tangible benefits that you otherwise wouldn't have had you continued procrastinating AKA never doing it

Maybe Jocko has some ideas on how to "square away" the absolute disaster zone San Diego has become with the homeless and unregulated vendors destroying what USED to be "America's Finest City"... Countless Naval personnel over the past century enjoyed going on liberty in downtown SD and the numerous beach areas, as well as bought property throughout SD County, but now with so many businesses closing their doors and effective no-go zones throughout the downtown and beach areas, being stationed there is more of a financial and lifestyle drag than the blessing it used to be. Sooner or later, the military will be called in to restore order. Before then, maybe Jocko can go give a speech to Mayor Gloria and the other "experts" at the city council about "extreme ownership"... before San Diego becomes another failed city in America... and I know Jocko understands the strategic importance of the military facilities throughout the San Diego region.

OMFG Jocko Go sour apple SNIPER 12 ounce energy can has a bitter almost metalic flavor, it was repulsive, gotta fix that, along with not having $11 or $22 size Pre Powder options, $11 is a good choice for samples and for those with economic woes, nobody does this, maybe it's not a great idea, but it might increase sales, but Sour Sniper Apple was a horrible sample option for me, just giving feed back and maybe the smaller pre sizes would increase sales, I think it would since people would heave a cheaper option to try your product and or just be able to buy it at a lower price if needed, also smaller contains are good for travel, the energy content isn't even that small for a 11 or 22$ option, may be worthy of exploring this.
