I Have had ptsd since a child, joined the Marines but was kicked out after 2 years for drugs. For 3 years I cried, tried to kill mySelf, drank, and did hard drugs. I slowly went from a model citizen to a piece of shit with no purpose, eating trashcan scraps. I went on leave at my job as a janitor For the Los Angeles Unified School district last month to try to fully commit to changing my brain. I had several anxiety attacks every day, I'd hyperventalate myself to sleep, and woke up with my chest to my ceiling every morning. I constantly see the face of the person who died in my arms as their soul leaves there body. I hear his mom and sisters cries and screams. But I pressed on. Its been month. I am slowly changing. I joined 10th planet jiu jitsu, even though I puke through each warmup, I still am not giving up. I just started wrestling, even though I have no business there and its embarrassing to gas out constantly. I've ran 70 miles this month, even though my knees hurt carrying my new 205 lbs fat body. I'm doing yoga, just because I've never been flexible. I would not be here if I didnt start a change, but I wont be on this earth for long if I stop. Thanks so much Jocko!! It takes a lot of courage to share your personal experiences, but Its everyone's duty to teach those who have not suffered yet. You've personally helped me more than all my psychiatrists, counselors, therapists, and psych drugs put together.

Get David Goggins, pls! His story of overcoming failure is powerful
@chickenjoe10036 жыл бұрын
Why do you want him on the podcast if you already know his story lol
@joshuarosner56916 жыл бұрын
The guy has shared his story on like 5 podcasts already. Goggins is amazing but he doesn’t have anything new to say. Maybe he’ll do another one when he releases his book or something else to promote.

He has recounted that he was very disliked in the SEAL team. I think he was only about achieving crazy goals he set for himself & not so much being part of the team. He just wanted to join the SEAL team for name' sake. He became a recruiter after his time in the teams. Of course this is just me guessing, but I don't see any aspect of brotherhood & sacrifice for his brothers in arms in the little interviews I've watched. Don't think Willink is that enthused to get him on. If I may jump to an extreme (& most likely unfair) - I'd say Goggins is extremely selfish & this probably cost him his marriage.

The other strategist's name zhuge Liang is pronounced chu-guh li-ung and he also possibly invented the wheelbarrow, the first robots, a semi - automatic crossbow, among other things. Died on the battlefield of a heart attack brought on by stress from micro-managing his army (lol) in ~230ad. The opposing force was so scared of his strategies that they attacked upon hearing of his death, and then fled at the sight of a scarecrow wearing his headdress. You can visit his grave and the site of his death if you speak Chinese and can find them lol he almost certainly didn't write the 36 strategems, though. But some of them are based on and named after events that happened during his lifetime Yes, I'm aware that nobody cares

Podcast with Rob O'Neil would be kickass
@JR-ju3kj6 жыл бұрын
Guests like Rob O`Neil would indeed be kick-ass. In addition to Rob O`Neil, it would be awesome to see Jocko have on guests such as Thomas ''Drago''Dzerian, Brandon Webb, Nate Fick, Rudy Reyes, Mark Divine, Jack Murphy, Jim West, Wes Moore, David Goggins and Nicholas Irving at some point on the podcast. Since Jocko has had on Jody Mitic(twice, I believe), who is a former Canadian soldier , it would be cool to see Jocko have on someone like Ant Middleton,who was a British Royal Marine and in the SBS.

J R Webb is a lying asshole who’s been shunned by most of the SEAL community. I’d be shocked if Jocko could even sit in the same room as him. OTOH, Drago is a savage and has an incredible story. One of the most compelling I’ve ever heard of modern warriors.

Hello Jocko, I have met you at barnes and noble in Mira mesa, and also at sunset cliffs.I am stationed out here in San Diego working on a package. Would like to meet up one day in the near future and discuss what it takes from someone who actually made it through and is successful to this day, have you analyze me and my ways and what I have going on in my head.. "Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward" I would like to understand your past and apply it to my future. HA Walsh.

jocko i have a question Im 16 Im from Israel, in 2.5 years im going to the army. I know that i can achieve any thing i want and work for. I started to study hard at school because i took it as a challenge, but i dont really see the point. my small goal before the army is to learn how make money out of the internet, and then make enough money to buy property for real estate, so that by the time i finish the army i would have some money, i dont know for what yet. ?should i keep studying hard for school or should i start learn how to make money online and learn about real estate I think I should try to do both, but i would love to hear your opinion

I bought the 100 count Jocko white tea. I like it... but hibiscus always takes over the flavor of tea when it's added. Suggestion... how about a flavor that replaces the hibiscus with mint

Any suggestions for a guy that's supposed to be successful with his ideas and work ethic but struggles with discipline and focus? A lot of failures with shitty boitsraps that support zero weight. Failed the military physical as a youth, yet I was in better condition than everyone else during the exam. Since then I've been on my own trying to make more than minimum wage.

Just get some disciplined badasses lol
@JR-ju3kj6 жыл бұрын
That`s right, my mistake. Both are units in the UKSF(United Kingdom Special Forces) but the Special Air Service and the Special Boat Service are not the same. Ant Middleton and Jason Fox have been incorrectly referred to at times, as being SAS but you`re right, they`re SBS. Again, my mistake but still...it would be awesome to see them on the podcast. Similar to what I said on another post on here, Jocko had on former Canadian soldier Jody Mitic(twice), so I would like to see more military personnel from other countries on the podcast, too(that is, whenever it is feasible for Jocko to have them on). Like Dood Jenkins said, just get some disciplined bad-asses!
