I was a head chef at a high end restaurant before I joined, so far I enjoyed my time, definitely took a pay cut compared to what I used to make, but benefits, military discount and 4 day weekends makes up for it😂, my job is way less stress than my chef job and I work 8hrs most of the day compare to 10-11hrs as a chef, and I also have post 911 once I get out if I choose to.

Ease of entry would be another amazing addition to the points, Air Force would win 1.5 to googles .5 as 2 million applicants annually apply for Google, and Google only hires 2,000 to 4,000 of them a year.

yeah, but random things make Airforce applicants ineligible, things out of your control like, allergies, vision, and other genetic stuff can be disqualifiers, most of those aren't disqualifiers and are illegal to discriminate against in the civilian sector, not everyone wins the gene pool but wants to work hard and excels in other areas.

Been watching your videos this past week. 35 years old now took the asvab in 2008 when I lived in Cleveland for the navy and failed. But being 35 and working from job to job sucks which is why I’m thinking of joining the Air Force. The new asvab book and KZbin became a lot more resourceful since 2008 for mathematics and arithmetic reasoning.

Love the video! And get this: you can do both - work at Google and be in the Air Force. I interned there and knew someone who worked at Google while serving in the Navy Reserve. He had a great experience. I'm currently looking into joining the Air National Guard. Good luck everyone!

I’m leaving for basic April 15th and I’m going to be a C-5 load. I’m starting as a E-3 because the chief put a good word in for me and double blocked the job. I just wanna say thank you for everything you do and helped me prepare not only for the Air Force but also the asvab

Google benefits are mostly gone due to the mass layoffs in 2023-2024 especially where I live in the NYC area, job security does not exist in the tech community.

Yeah a CS degree ain’t as powerful as it used to be, the same can be said about an IT certification. There was once a time where you could land an IT job straight out of highschool and make good money. Nowdays, since everyone and they momma tried getting into IT during the 2020 pandemic an entry level wage for IT is $30k or less, sometimes they pay even less than your local McDonald’s 😂

Im not exaggerating when I say I’ve seen restaurant manager positions that pay $65k-$100k where they state they will train you. My brother went to college and has some years of experience in IT just to make the same as a restaurant manager without a degree. IT/CS degrees ain’t as lucrative as they used to, everyone and they momma has been getting one for the past 15 years, $500k programming salaries are officially over

Howdy Jody. I was sent to MEPS a couple of weeks ago and I was denied to enter into the USAF and ask for a medical waiver due to a corticosteriod shot. Today I received a memo stating that I am disqualified… Is it possible to make it happen? I think that i can make it, but i also feel lack of interest from my recruiter to help me.

This vid was very insightful. I feel that Google and the AF would be about even. To me the pay on the AF side could've been a 1 because even though you are not getting paid like Google, the AF or any military branch got those hook ups to make your money stretch. Google don't have Tricare and the PX. Also I think it varies between an enlisted vs having that officer pay. Either way you can't go wrong either or.

You live in dorms with a bunch of guys in basic, you’ll share a room in tech school with one person, and when you get to your duty location you should have a single room dorm. Some overseas locations still have shared rooms. When deployed you usually share a room with another person, or could potentially be in like a 50 man tent. It really depends on your unit and how they deploy.

This sounds like a blood lab test you need to have taken. You should be able to go to your doctor and request a blood lab test for CBC, and they should be able to help you
