We lost Huff and JFM and replaced them with Reddick (nothing). How could their d-line not be worse. The o-line did a great job pass protecting against a top defense. They just need time to become a cohesive unit for run-blocking. Mike Williams just got back. Aaron hasn’t started a full game in 2 years, They have a lot of room to improve. We have to get Reddick figured out.

When the Jets last played in San Francisco in Week 1 and lost on 9/6/98, I was upset at how they lost with the 96 yard Garrison Hearst TD. However, I felt really good about the team. They went back and forth with Steve Young and the 49ers. Owens was on that team too. Defense caused TOs. I felt really good about the team and the coaches. The new unis that year were 🔥. However, after this loss, I was demoralized at the defense. That is the team's identity. That was excruciating to watch. Thats Saleh's side of the ball. And Saleh's response post game basically not worried, we'll get it fixed. He's 18-34 as HC. Fix that. Thats 16 ganes under .500. He would need multiple seasons just to reach .500. I am very concerned about a HC who knew nothing Shanahan was coming with. Thats hard to grasp. Offense and special teams I feel good about. But that defense sucked the life out of my night. If they had lost going back and forth, fine. But that defense allowed 8 straight scoring drives. Eight. That has not happened in decades. That's my concern. The Head Coach.

As great has this season has been, I'm worried Lindor is cold again and we're struggling to score runs. Our pitching has been great, but this is Toronto, not the Phillies in the playoffs. This upcoming series is HUGE!!!! Let's hope Lindor finds his groove again and Pete has a few more long balls for us. JD Martinez has been great. Despite all of Alonzo's HRs, if Martinez had played in April he'd have more RBIs right now. Vientos has never played this many games in a season, hopefully he can keep it up down the stretch. Our outfield defense is great, but offensively we're getting nothing. Nimmo is having a terrible year, Bader was clutch for a couple of months, but that's a distant memory. Marie hens;'t showed much, and Taylor hasn't hit enough to justify playing him every day.

Joe is AWESOME. Wears his passions on his sleeve and in his heart. But, Joe is also a realist who is knowledgeable and fair. Bottom line re the JETS vs SF is that it was a very disturbing mismatch from a physical match-up perspective. The Jets DL was manhandled as the SF OL continually opened up running holes, or sealed the edges such that an undrafted free-agent 3rd year back-up RB ran wild - Mason tallied 147 yds in a Pro Bowl-worthy performance. Additionally, the SF OL created repeated classic pockets for Darnold to sit in and pick the JETS secondary apart because Darnold had all day back there AND the JETS DBs couldn't cover SF receivers at all - whether zone or man. Conversely the JETS OL opened up nothing for Breece Hall. Inside the tackles, Hall was stuffed and outside there was no edge sealing allowing Hall to go wide. And without any running game, the offense, even with a sharp and accurate Rodgers, is doomed. Rodgers showed flashes of his profound abilities to throw darts which is something to build on. But overall, the JETS seem overrated after this disappointing opener and, if they don't get a fast handle on things, the JETS may be one of the most disappointing NY sports teams in a long time because everyone, including THIS Giants Fan, had the JETS penciled in for an almost automatic Playoff appearance this season. Anything less would be yet another STUNNING JETS failure. If these JETS fail and go 8 - 9 or something, Joe's "Oh-The-Pain" will be rebranded and upgraded to "Oh-The-Agony"

The Jets didn't have much offensive time of possession for A-Rod to get some more scoring drives going. The 49ers practically had their offense on the field for 2/3 of the game whereas the Jets ToP was nearly a 1/3. Shannahan played take away all night on Saleh which wore his Jets defense down to a knub. If only the Jets were able to get those 2-point conversions complete the losing score would've been a bit more respectable at 32-23. Plus, the season just started and the A-Rod-run offense needs time to get into sync because of being accustomed to training camp conditions compared to playing at in-season game conditions. Also, the Jets lost to SF on opening day in 1998 when the Big Tuna was HC and by season's end, went 12-4 and won their first AFC East title. Don't start panicking like the Mets fans were earlier this season. The Jets will get it together Week 2 in TN.

Why is Robert Saleh not fired yet? His head coaching record is abysmal at 18-34. After a lot of promise and hoopla about how great the Jets are going to be this season......they fell on their faces and embarrassed all their fans. SAME OLD JETS. It is very painful to be a Jets fan. The last year we went to the playoffs was 2010. I do agree with you 100 percent. The issue for the Jets is that the 49ers showed that the Jets defense cannot defend intermediate horizontal routes - and opposing NFL offenses are going to try to do that to them every game moving forward. Essentially, I believe the Jets were exposed from a fundamental aspect, and they were exposed in the very first week of the season for all to see.
