Rex Ryan. 61-66 career record. 46-50 record with the Jets. 18-30 in his last three years with the Jets. Good luck with that 🤣
@arjl88021 сағат бұрын
To be fair, the last three years he was straddled with John Idzik, one of the worst GMs the Jets had, who gave Rex practically nothing for his defense to the point he had to play Antonio Allen, a safety and Hakim Saleem, a receiver at Cornerback. On offense we were depending on guys like David Nelson, Jeremy Kerley as top receivers. Rex would likely turn our defense back to top 5, Ahmad Gardner would become "Sauce" again. Give him a solid offensive coordinator and we have ourselves a good shot at a winning record

@chillwill8108 Flores record in Miami was the same as Gase's. No thanks. At least Gase went to the playoffs once & won a SB as OC with Denver. I don't get the Flores love based on his record. And yes, Rex was undermined by Izdik. People forget Rex managed to go 8-8 with rookie Geno Smith at QB. Context is everything. That bloke cites only part of Rex's record with no context.

Look at what the Mets and Knicks did recently to become relevant again. First, start with the front office: very good GM and manager/head coach. Then have the owner just sign checks. P.S. that ain't Rex.
@danshowlundКүн бұрын
That’s kinda the whole problem isn’t it? Woody’s never going to be happy just signing checks, he NEEDS to have his hands all over the roster. There’s no hope while he’s owner.
@steves996420 сағат бұрын
That's kind of been the eternal problem here, or at least one of them. What's the hierarchy? Right now they don't have either, so are they going to hire them separately, or bring in a GM and let him decide on a coach? We've already seen this carousel time and time again with Tannenbaum/Rex to Idzik/Rex, then hiring Maccagnan and Bowles separately, then dumping Maccagnan for Douglas after allowing Maccagnan to run the draft, etc. In other words, a complete mess.

Do NOT understand why Benigno wants R. Ryan back. Ryan had 6 straight losing seasons his last 6 years as a HC. 4 straight losing seasons with the Jets, and then 2 more losing seasons with Buffalo. So whom do you want? I understand what you're saying but this person - whomever he ends up being - also has to agree to coach here. This is THE worst job in the league, especially after the ridiculousness the owner pulled this season. They're not getting anyone who's highly sought. I'd prefer a coach with some HC experience because I just don't think they have the support structure for a first year guy. This guy also needs to be able to handle the vultures in the media as they circle the carcass. At least Rex would take pressure off the players, something that hasn't happened since he left. Bowles, Gase and Saleh all had the deer in the headlights look during those pressers.
