Joe's the most GIFTED bluesman on the planet! He plays Electric, Slide, Acoustic, Double Neck, Vocalist, Song Writer who gives 110% no matter where he plays. Humility & Respect for players that influenced the way he plays today.

Rick Dwyer Well put. I mean, how else do you fully 'describe' Joe? (I like your use of the word, 'bluesman.' I just used it on a comment on another of the Red rocks show. THAT is 'what' he is - the best (most-talented) 'bluesman' alive. And I'm an 'oldman' who's been around the Sun too many trips already. Still Love the blues.

I agree, too much production, needs to be raw blues
@GuiitarBilly2 жыл бұрын
I’m a Joe fan too and love intense guitar playing. Using a little space and breathing between some of the licks in the solo would have made the rest of it more effective. IMHO. Its been a minute since I watched this whole concert and maybe seeing the songs on either side of this one would give his reading of (and solo in) Killing Floor…more context.

Only Wolf gives this song the gritty edge it deserves... This is too refined and pardon me, but too whitebread.

I don't know what to make of Bonamassa yet. For blues he just sounds too precise and polished. His voice doesn't fit for me either. I fully appreciate his playing, but if I want blues I'll listen to Wolf or Muddy or Buddy. I like it to sound like it's on the edge of all falling apart.

Yea. As a cover is perfectly fine. He is an amazing player. But Hendrix's rendition at Monteray Pop Festival was a whole level above this. Shame it doesn't seem to be on youtube anymore.
@bmphil34005 жыл бұрын
he wants to sound good vocally but he sounds like someone that hasn't really listened or got the feel of the vocals......its possible he just doesn't understand blues vocals......not everyone is a blues singer.....he sounds kinda like Bruce Hornsby trying to do blues....he doesn't vary anything , put in feel or soul and he enunciates perfectly..... its like sterile white bread suburban soccer mom version of the blues.....its almost like he went and took vocal lessons tonlrarn how to sing the blues...... like cookie cutter, vanilla vocals......I keep using food analogies......country club blues.....
