Let’s not forget to give a thumbs up 👍 too for the ‘elderly’ man on the keyboards! Without having great band members alongside such a talented artist like Joe would take away from the entire performance imo!
@elainemeyer5062
@elainemeyer5062 Жыл бұрын
@@blamb560 😉 I put elderly in quotes bc I’m also probably around his age (going on 70) and based on years, it might seem to many people that I’m ‘old’. But - I like to believe that a person’s as ‘young as they feel’, and I don’t feel OR act ‘elderly’ at all!

@@damogranheart5521 Yeah, you’re right! There are also MANY others who are up there in years (i.e. Elton John, the always energetic Ray Cooper who’s the ‘often’ drummer 🥁 for E. J., Clapton, etc.) that are still on fire 🔥! God bless them ALL for their ongoing talent, love for, and dedication to their music and fans! 👏

Yes, it's definitely a team sport, but J.B. could go solo anytime he wanted to. The other band members probably could not do so.~

@@CharlesKloss I agree, but I still give the ‘other’ backups a 👍 for being loyal to the their ‘masters’, so to speak! For example, Ray Cooper on drums 🥁 for Elton John, etc. - he’s up there in years too, and has the energy of a child!

I was very lucky to see EC during the journeyman tour, at 17 years old. Due to a fluke in ticketmaster’s system I got 2nd row center seats. This song, and Old Love just blew me away! Stage volume was very high, and you could feel Nathan East’s bass, it was my 3rd concert. Everyone in my row looked like they were in their 50’s and most were smoking weed the whole 1st half. Such a fun night!

I saw that tour in Germany at the Festhalle, March 5th, 1990 while I was serving with the Canadian Air Forces. Wow, 30+yrs ago. I was standing on the rail right between Eric and Nathan! What a show that was. He opened with Pretending, then Alibis and first encore was Crossroads, then In the Sunshine of your loooooooove.... ;) There's a kind of buzzing audio version of that show here on youtube.

Is it me or Joe has become extremely mature with his phrasing as a blues rock guitarist? When he first started, his playing consisted of a ton of guitar acrobatics, but he seems to have slowed down a ton and focuses mainly on whether the phrases fit the feel of his jams or arrangements (and I mean what I said in a highly positive way!).
