I just discovered and started listening to him maybe a week ago. I don’t even remember how I got the song on, but the first song I heard just grabbed me more than any other song I do believe I have ever heard, I liked it that much. I’m not a rookie either, I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show on a Sunday night back in 1964 I believe, and I have been a rocker ever since. I have to believe I’ve heard a few MILLION SONGS in my day. As that old (like me) western day movie actor use to say, “NO BRAG, JUST FACT.” Other than FAMILY, music is the rest of my life, I love it that much. Can’t play diddly on any instrument, but play a mean air guitar, drum, keyboard, you name it. I love it that much and it is fun, so I think I will continue as long as I can. I’m not real sure, at 67, with a broken back, how much longer I will last. It’s still working for me however, so I just keep doing what I love, listening to good old CLASSIC ROCK N ROLL, whenever and wherever I can.

My wife and I saw him many times over the years. But it was this one special night, in a small venue in Spartanburg SC, about three years ago, that showed his true maestro side. He played for 2 hours non stop and had the whole audience mesmerized. He lead us on a masterful musical journey by the gentle bending of his guitar strings and a sweet blending of old and new blues songs, that by the shows end, melded into his one masterpiece. We have never been so moved by any performance. From start to finish, he kept pulling us deeper and deeper as if we were the only ones there. When it was over, there was a quiet, emotional standing ovation, no whistling or yelling, just and more clapping. We all knew we’d just been a part of something extraordinary !!! A once in a lifetime experience that we’ll never see again. But we’ll still go whenever Joe’s in the neighborhood. Look up the lyrics of Roberta Flacks “Killing me Softly” and you’ll understand how Joe treated us that special night… God Bless you Joe!!!

"Genius" A word that gets thrown around rather loosely, at times, when it comes to describing certain players. Roy Buchanan, Stevie Ray, Billy Gibbons, Clapton, Satriani.... Joe has become a "genius" through hard work, dedication to his craft. Never being one to be afraid of making a mistake in order to learn something new. Now..... Go back and watch this one more time and watch a master at work....watch as he uses his little finger to tremello the volume knob and is sooooo delicate....and then... Go back and watch it one more time and.....Turn This Fucker Up!!!
